Memorial service: Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery (21731 Spring Street in Union Grove)

Burlington – Frank Erwin Spanske Jr., age 92, passed away peacefully at Arbor View Assisted Living on Tuesday morning, September 19, 2017.
Frank was born in Racine on February 21, 1925 to the late Frank E. and Violet (nee: Kaskin) Spanske, Sr. He was a graduate of Washington Park High School. Frank faithfully served our country with the United States Army in WWII from 1943-46.
On June 25, 1949 in Racine, Frank was united in marriage with the love of his life, Dorothy Marie (nee: Boscher). He was employed as a machinist at Walker Mfg. for nearly 18 years before going to work for Wisconsin Electric Company for the next 27 years, retiring in 1988. Frank and Dorothy were lifetime residents of Racine until moving to Burlington in 2012.
Frank had been an active member of Christ Church United Methodist – first on Grange Avenue and then on Washington Avenue. He was a longtime Boy Scout leader and devoted volunteer at All Saints Medical Center – Christmas House. Among his interests, Frank enjoyed vacations up north, model trains, camping and fishing. Above all, he loved spending time with his entire family.
Surviving are his loving wife of over 68 years, Dorothy; their children, Linda (Keith) Reimers, Robert (Cheryl) Spanske and Pamela (Ken) Simes; grandchildren, Jordan Spanske, Christopher Spanske, Nathan (fiancé, Tori) Simes and Megan (Justin) Krug; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his sister, Delores Spanske; and brothers, Herbert and Donald Spanske.
A memorial service, with military honors, will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery (21731 Spring Street in Union Grove, WI).
