MOUNT PLEASANT – Carolynn M. Bass, 74, passed away at Maple Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center in Milwaukee on Monday, October 9, 2017.
A lifelong resident of Racine, Carolynn was born on October 2, 1943, the daughter of the late Henry and Florence (nee: Fischer) Lund. She graduated from Washington Park High School in 1961. After graduation Carolynn went to work for her family’s business, Motor Specialty, Inc; last serving as C.E.O. She enjoyed reading, traveling; especially to Hawaii and Door County, shopping and sharing time with her family.
Carolynn is survived by her son, Lt Col Mark (Joanne) Bass of Stuttgart, Germany; her daughter, Cindy (Bill) Bittner of Mount Pleasant; her grandchildren, Julia and Olivia Bass, Sam and Max Conner; her sister, Lynn Lund of La Crosse; as well as many loving nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Phillip (Susan) Lund and sisters, Joan (Dale) Sargent and Jean (Dave) Keiser.
Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Saturday, October 14, 2017 for a visitation and time to meet with her family from 12:00 – 1:30 p.m.. A service remembering and celebrating Carolynn’s life will follow at 1:30 p.m. Memorials have been suggested to the American Cancer Society and the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Carolynn’s family extends a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Ellen Ziaja and Dr. Abhay Jella; as well as their staffs; all the nurses at St. Luke’s Medical Center; Hometown Hospice and Maple Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center for the professional and loving attention she received while under their care. They’d also like to say a special thank you to Mr. Terry Arp, Mrs. Susie Krekling, Mrs. Barb O’Haver, Mrs. Lita Price and her Motor Specialty family.
