Mt. Pleasant – James Frederick Hermann was called home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at the age of 71. Jim was born June 28, 1946 in Sheboygan, WI to Frederick and Leona Hermann. Having married Jamie Rae Fennell on January 17, 1970, they were blessed with 47 love-filled years together.

He was a confirmed member of Epiphany Lutheran Church, attended Racine Lutheran High School, and graduated from Carthage College. Jim served as a Fire Direction Controller in the Racine Army National Guard.

Jim was a chemist and expert witness for S.C. Johnson for many years and retired as a Senior Research Fellow from Diversey. After forty-five years of faithful service, he became a consultant for Diversey and then S.C. Johnson.

Courageously battling cancer, he endured radiation and chemotherapy without complaint. He was a hero to his family and friends. Being diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2009 didn’t detour him from golfing, boating, target shooting or family gatherings. He always enjoyed visits from family, friends and workmates.

In addition to his wife, Jim will be missed by his loving sons and daughters-in-law Jeffery & Michelle and Joel & Sarah and very precious grandchildren Liam, Isabelle, Elijah, Cecilia, Levi and Ezra.

Many thanks to his awesome caregivers provided by Amada Senior Care and Heartland Hospice.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 4:30 pm at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home, 4600 County Line Road, Racine 53403 with Pastor Michael Zarling officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Thursday from 1:30 – 4:30 pm.

Jamie, my sincere condolences to you and your family. I recall with fondness those great times we all had at “The Extension” – UW-Racine Center. Ironically, ou two youngest children had Mrs. Hermann for their 3rd grade teacher across the street from us at Bose Elementary School. May God’s love bring you, your children and your grandchildren comfort as you mourn Jim’s passing.

Testimonials

the Victor Morris Family

Can’t thank Gary and you all enough for our fathers funeral arrangements (Victor Joseph Morris) June 18th, 2020.
He would have been SO proud. So many little personal details that we were not even expecting, totally overwhelmed us. From the pamphlets to the thank-you notes and copies of the video, to the beautiful casket picture and arrangement. Pop looked as proud as he was in life. And thanks also to the very cooperative and helpful staff. We thought it would take much longer to knock this all out at our one and only meeting with Gary. We did not want to overlook, or forget to give our heartfelt thanks for such wonderful service at such a horrible time in our lives.
God Bless,
Bob Morris
