Memorials to the family will be used to benefit the Activities Department at Grande Prairie, where Elaine spent so many hours enjoying music, art, and especially the weekly bingo game.

PLEASANT PRAIRIE – Elaine Jane Peuse (Roedema) passed away on December 4, 2017 at the Grande Prairie Health and Rehabilitation Center in Pleasant Prairie, WI, surrounded by her loving family.
Elaine was born in Racine, to Martha and Clarence Roedema on September 8, 1935. She was united in marriage to Robert Peuse on September 27th, 1952 in Port Angeles, WA. They soon returned to Racine where they would raise 7 daughters, Lori (Robert) Staaden of Kenosha, Cynthia (Dale) Mayhew of Alton, ME, Bobbi Jo (Carl) Celli, of Addison, IL, Mary Lou (Corey) Kopenski of Greenfield, WI, Traci (Timothy) Benish of Mount Pleasant, Kathy (Robert Bradford) of Franklin, WI, and Janice (Kevin) Strom of Mount Pleasant.
Elaine was also the precious grandmother to 18 adoring grandchildren, Brandon (Stephanie) Staaden, Candice (Jeff) Glowinski, Dana (Jacob) Federmeyer, Nicole (Ryan) Clark, Shelby (Carl) Engelmann, Roberto Martinez, Basilia, Jerome, and Nicholas Celli, Kelli and Kyle Kopenski, Gina (Jerome) Kobriger, Neil (Crystal Harrington Joseph, Jordan (Jessica) Benish, Daniel (Brittany Nowak) Bradford, Samantha Bradford, and Zachary and Emma Strom. She has been the proud great grandma of Toby, Aidan, and Olivia Staaden, Jeffrey Szulczewski, Kaitlin Halphide, Deacon, Brynn, Lathan, Weston, and Ellison Kobriger, Parker Benish, Isabella Lillo, and Beau Bradford. She is also survived by one brother, Leroy (Doris) Roedema, many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant son Ronald, precious grandson Zachary Bradford and by 4 brothers, Lawrence, Clarence, Richard, and Jacob and two sisters, Claire and Marcia.
Elaine worked as a checkout clerk for Piggly Wiggly for 42 years. She enjoyed traveling, playing cribbage and sheepshead with friends, theatre and spending lots of time with her grandchildren and daughters. She was a beautiful, loving and strong mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.
Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Saturday, December 9, 2017 for a visitation from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. A service remembering and celebrating Elaine’s life will follow at 12:00 p.m. Memorials to the family will be used to benefit the Activities Department at Grande Prairie, where Elaine spent so many hours enjoying music, art, and especially the weekly bingo game.
Elaine’s family would like to thank the staff of Heartland Hospice for their care during her recent illness, as well as the staff of Grande Prairie Health and Rehabilitation Center for their many years of treating our mother with dignity, respect, and love.

My mind is racing with memories of almost 60 years of friendship and then family . Even after my divorce Elaine treated me like family and my husband like an old friend , which he was . What a beautiful legacy she has left behind . Children , grandchildren and great grandchildren . I send love to you all .

Thank you to so many dear friends and family for your outpouring of love and prayers in the passing of our mother. All through her last week of life I personally felt a tremendous sense of gratitude for being blessed with the love and devotion of such a wonderful mother. She truly was an inspiration to me and her support gave me the strength and determination to make her proud in all my life choices. She was a force and a strength that will be with me the rest of my life. I love you Mom.
