Elisabeth Rawlinko

Dec 12, 1930 – Dec 9, 2017

Service Details

PRIVATE services were held

Elisabeth Rawlinko, 86, passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Sudetenland, Germany on December 12, 1930.  During World War II, her family was relocated to Karlsruhe, Germany where she met Theodore Rawlinko.  They were married on August 19, 1950.  Ted and Elisabeth immigrated to the United States in 1951 settling in Racine and became members of St. Michaels Ukrainian Catholic church in Milwaukee.

Elisabeth was employed by In-Sink-Erator and A&E Manufacturing.  She was an exceptional cook, loved to dance and took pride in her garden.  She enjoyed traveling and an occasional trip to the casino.  Most importantly, she loved her family and treasured getting together with them for Sunday dinners, birthdays and holidays.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ted in 2009, and many relatives in Germany.  She is survived by her three children: Steven (Carol) Rawlinko, Rosemarie (Joel) Borgardt, and Gregory Rawlinko, all of Racine; two grandchildren:  Kyle (Alexandra) Borgardt of Madison and Allyson Borgardt of Milwaukee.

Special thanks to her son, Greg, who provided her with loving care over the last few years.  The family is also appreciative of the care provided by Cindy, Nicole and Heartland Hospice.  A special thank-you to her dear friend Darlene.

In keeping with her wishes, a private service will be held.  Memorials can be sent to The Salvation Army, 1901 Washington Ave. Racine, WI 53403, in Elisabeth’s memory

A special note from Elisabeth’s family:

She loved the freedom and prosperity that America provided, working without end to accomplish her goals.  She had a wonderful sense of humor and we all laughed right up to her final days.  Everything she cooked was delicious.  We could never quite get the recipes because they were all in her head. She was a social butterfly who loved shopping, farmers markets and a good cup of coffee.  She was a wonderful Mom and Oma, and will be deeply missed.  Your work on earth is done, and we’re comforted knowing that you’re with your departed family in heaven.

With Love,

Your Family

My family and I would like to thank you and your staff for all the kindness and sincere expressions of sympathy that you extended to us during the loss of my son, Todd Swanson. We appreciate all the extra special things you did to help us through this very difficult time. We didn’t have to think ahead, we just had to be there while every little detail was taken care of by you and your staff. This made an impression on everyone that came, and I will never forget it. Thank you from all of us.
