What could bring more joy than starting the New Year in heaven with your Savior!

MaryAnn (nee: Baietto) Heinitz, 78, passed away at St. Francis Hospital early New Years Day 2018 after a brief illness.

MaryAnn was born in Kenosha on December 30, 1939 to Jacob and Ann (nee: Romano) Baietto. On August 13, 1960 she was united in marriage with Norman C. Heinitz at Bethany Lutheran Church in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Together they raised 3 children Betsy Heinitz and Karl Heinitz of Racine, Wisconsin and Rebecca Smith of Minneapolis, MN.

Mary Ann attended local schools and completed some college level courses before she started her most important vocation of raising and caring for her children. She created many knitted and crocheted projects, sewed countless articles of clothing for her children, and hand stitched many beautiful samplers for her family and friends. She was always willing to make room for one more at the dinner table, and she went out of her way to help out a friend in need. She enjoyed being at home, and reached her many friends and family regularly by phone from her favorite spot on the couch.

When she wasn’t at home, you could find her at a bridge table. She attained the distinction of Diamond Life Master and made many life long friends, some of whom are waiting for her in heaven and looking for a fourth.

She is survived by her children and by her brothers, John Baietto and Gene Baietto, Sister-in-Law Laurel Baietto, Sister-in-Law Dorothy Simpson, many nieces and nephews, and her beloved grand-daughter Isabella MaryAnn who will always remember her as a loving, funny, generous grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter Julie Ann Heinitz, her sister Judith Baietto, Sisters-in-Law Karen Baietto and Luella Gillingham, and brothers-in-law Charles Heinitz, Howard Heinitz, and Delbert Heinitz.

MaryAnn Heinitz was intelligent, loving, giving, funny, strong, and fiercely devoted to the people she loved. She will be dearly missed by her husband, children, grand-daughter, and friends.

A Celebration of her life will be held on Monday, January 8, 2018, 11:00am at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 2921 Olive St., Racine, WI. You’re invited to greet the family in the Friendship Room at the church from 10:00am until the time of service.

Dear Norman, Betsy, Karl and Becky,
I’m so sorry to hear of MaryAnn’s departure and joyful that she is there with our Lord and God and a multitude of family and friends welcoming her into Heaven!
I have so many memories of being with her and your family … to our acupuncture visits (remember the cupping technique? and I think she bought of set of cups to use herself!). And she and Norm at our wedding in Dec. 1999 (brr … cold that Monday!). We still have & use the lovely wedding gift of the Noritake dinnerware set (“Spring”, I think it’s called) … it’s still all in one set from all the military travel and housing moves that we did 🙂
We are sorry for your loss and know that she lives on in my (our)memories. She was a GREAT Mom and a loving soul. Peace and comfort to all of you!
