Jeanette "Peachie" Hardin

Jul 2, 1940 – Feb 2, 2018

Jeanette “Peachie” Hardin, 77, passed away, unexpectedly, in Ascension All Saints on Friday, February 2, 2018. She was born in Racine on July 2, 1940, the daughter of the late Richard and Jeanette (Nee: Alery) Puck.

“Peachie’ was a graduate of St. Catherine’s High School, Class of ’59. On May 14, 1960, in St. Edward Catholic Church, she married the love of her life William “Butch” Hardin Sr. She was lucky enough to be a stay-at-home-Mom, until their children were older. “Peachie” was then employed by Ametek for over 15 years. She was a devout Catholic, saying her daily prayers faithfully. She and Butch were fortunate enough to retire before the age of 50; and built their dream home in Adams County where they enjoyed all the wildlife, especially her birds. They moved back to Mt. Pleasant to re-retire in 2016.  Before moving to Adams County, she was a longtime member of St. Lucy Catholic Church. They belonged to two country western dance clubs, in which Butch played guitar.

Surviving are her husband, Butch; their children Mary Jean (Jim) Shack, Bill (Sandi) Hardin Jr.; two brothers, Richard (Patricia) Puck, of Conway, AR, and Jim (Gloria) Puck, of Sumter, SC; brother-in-law, Jim Harden, of Thatcher, AZ; Butch’s niece Dorothy and her husband Rev. Steven Loy, who have always held a special place in their hearts. “Peachie” is further survived by her nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by several beloved aunts, and uncles.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Edward Catholic Church, 15th and Grove Ave., at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 7th, with Rev. Allan Bratkowski officiating. Visitation will be in the church on Wednesday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Entombment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park.
