Racine – Pearl A. (nee: Christiansen) Smith, age 94, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 12, 2018.

Pearl was born in Racine on July 25, 1923 to the late John and Ann Marie (nee: Huck) Christiansen, Jr. A graduate of Washington Park High School, Pearl went on to marry the love of her life, Herbert Lawrence Smith on December 24, 1941 at St. Mary Catholic Church. Although Herb served our community as a Postal Carrier with the United States Postal Service by day – Pearl & Herb worked evenings together at Manpower – servicing SC Johnson Wax.

Pearl was a longtime & faithful member of St. Lucy Catholic Church where she attended daily mass for many years.

Among her interests, Pearl loved tending to impeccable yard & lawn with pristine flower gardens, crocheting, solving crossword puzzles and volunteering at Lincoln Lutheran. Above all, Pearl was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her entire family.

Surviving are her daughter & son-in-law, Ann and Gary Johnson; grandchildren, Craig and Steven Johnson; nephews, George W. (Sara) Christiansen III and Barrett (Lee) Christiansen; close family friend, Barb Dupuis; other special relatives and friends – too numerous to mention all by name.

In addition to her parents, Pearl was preceded in death by her husband & soulmate, Herb Smith, on April 28, 2010; brother, George W. (Betty Lou) Christiansen, Jr.; and close family friend, Pete Dupuis.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 10:30 am in St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Avenue, with Rev. Javier Guativa and Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery – Highway 32. Visitation will be in the church on Friday from 9:30 – 10:30 am. Memorials to St. Lucy Catholic Church has been suggested.

A special note of thanks to the staffs at Aurora Medical Center – Kenosha; Ridgewood Care Center; Johnson Bank in Mount Pleasant; and to her extended family at Mystic Hair Studio for all the kindness and support given to Pearl. She truly appreciated all that you did to enhance her quality of life. May God bless all of you!
