Racine – Donna Mae (nee: Miller) Schust, age 81, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, February 25, 2018 at The Woods of Caledonia.

Donna was born in Racine on May 5, 1936 to the late Floyd and Bernice (nee: Jerdee) Miller. She graduated from Washington Park High School in 1954. On August 26, 1989, Donna was united in marriage to James C. Schust – who preceded her in death on January 23, 2002. Donna was employed as a customer service representative for Bergner’s / Prange’s / Younker’s – from where she retired to willingly help take care of her cherished grandchildren. Outside of spending time with her grandchildren, Donna enjoyed volunteering at North Park Elementary School and was a fantastic baker.

Surviving are her children, Debbie Miller, Dawn (Gary) Garbo, Brian Perman and Gail (Mike) Hemm; grandchildren, Jaime Herzog, Adam Miller, Jade (Todd) Kasprowicz, William (Tina) Jocius, Christopher (Laura) Jocius, Eric Jocius, Amanda Hemm, Shelby Hemm and Callie Hemm; great-grandchildren, Kali, Taylor, Samantha & Maxwell Kasprowicz; Michael & Preston Jocius; Eric & Layla Jocius; and Gavin & Ethan Jocius; sisters, Betty Menden, Patricia Miller, Yvonne Craft and Susan (John Roetzer) Miller; brother, James (Sheila) Miller; brother-in-law, Donald Andersen; sister-in-law, Barbara Schust; dear friend, Dallas Rolland; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends – too numerous to mention all by name.

In addition to her parents and husband, Donna was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Pamela Perman; brother, Jerome (Carolyn) Miller; sister, Joyce Andersen; and brothers-in-law, Jim Biersack, Ken Craft, Ernest Schust, Joseph Schust and Allan Schust.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 1:30 pm in Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home. Interment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park. A memorial luncheon will follow. Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm.

A special note of thanks to the wonderful staff of The Woods of Caledonia (especially Amy Nielsen) for the nine years of care given to our Mom; to Kindred Hospice for the support given in Donna’s time of need; and, above all, to Donna’s faithful sister, Susan Miller, for all the love, care & dedication you had for Mom throughout the years. She loved and truly appreciated all of you!

All people have the opportunity to make a difference and in the lives of others. Some people make more of those opportunities life presents to them to do so. I know from talking with Sam , that her Nana made the most of the opportunities she was given to support others. My family is holding your family in our hearts .

Your family have my condolences. Death is never easy, and it brings such such sorrow. May you find comfort in God’s wonderful promise to end suffering and death, Revelation 21:3, 4. We have the hope if seeing our live ones again. I hope this may comfort you at this difficult time.

Testimonials

October 22, 2015

I just wanted to say thank you for your wonderful attention to every detail you provided our family for my dad’s service. We were touched by the jazz music playing softly in the background. It was a fitting service for my dear Dad.
