RACINE – David C. Bolewski, Sr., 79, passed away at his home surrounded by family on Thursday, April 26, 2018.

He was born in Milwaukee on July 10, 1938, the son of the late Walter and Margaret (nee: Smikowski) Bolewski.   David was a proud graduate of Pius XI High School, Class of 1956.  He married Joan Haakenson on November 17, 1984.

David began his professional life as an award-winning hair stylist, associated with salons between Madison, Kenosha and Milwaukee.  For many years he later managed the beverage service for his parents’ bar and banquet hall, Walt’s Corner Squire.  David finished his career as a social services aid for Racine County Human Services. He was an avid bicyclist and Tour de France fan.  He had a passion for photography, sports cars and he loved cheering for the Green Bay Packers.

In addition to his wife, Joan, David is survived by his sons and daughter, David Bolewski, Jr. of Racine, Stephanie Bennett of Fox Point and Joshua Bolewski of Racine; his grandchildren, whom affectionately called him Dziadzia, Abigail and Sullivan Bennett; as well as his beloved Australian Shepherd, Fez.   David was also preceded in death by many beloved uncles that helped raise him.
