Joseph Felt age 92, answered the call of his Savior on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at Ascension All Saints in Racine, WI.

The Felt family attended Shiloh Stronghold Church of God in Christ.

Joseph (Joe) was born on March 9, 1926 in New Albany, MS to Martha Finley and Washington Ferrell.  His Mother passed away at a very young age, so his Aunt Annette and Uncle Joe Stacy raised him.  He attended Union County School.

Later on Joe moved to Racine, WI.  In 1952 Joe was drafted into the Army where he served for a couple of years.  After coming home, he worked various jobs with J.I Case being the last one.  He loved to go on his daily walks and tend to his garden.

In 1957 Joe married Ruth (Gray) Felt.  To this union four children were born; Joe “Raynar” (Samantha) Felt, Randa Felt, Sherri (De’orsi) Larrea, Chanell Slack, and Shemika McNeal, whom he helped raise, four grandchildren; Samita (Andres) Williams, Damerio Slack, D’angelo Felt, Haseem Felt, and four great-grandchildren all of Racine, WI.

He is also survived by three sisters; Lorene McNeal and Lee Dora Gray both of Milwaukee, and Clytoria Stewart of Tennessee.  A brother, Doug Ferrell, and many more brothers and sisters on the Ferrell side of Aurora, IL.  Three God Children, Carnell Willis, Amanda Reed, and Tanya Houston Ramsey, two brother- in- laws Roger Gray and Unzie Gray, two sister- in- laws, Ora Gray and Maryann Pulliam, and special friends William Canada “Red” and Thomas Hunt.

Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ruth Felt, and a brother James Edwards.  Joseph will be missed by all who knew him.

Testimonials

Joan Schrader and family

We want to thank Mike for the kindness and special attention he gave us for our mother. Marcella Conley. He came in the middle of the night himself to pick her up and take her to the funeral home. For the things that had to be taken care of, he told us not to worry; that it would be taken care of by him. Thank you also Mike for singing at her funeral, especially her favorite song, Amazing Grace. Thank you and all of your staff at Draeger-Langendorf.
