Service Details

Services will be held on Friday, October 11, 2019 at 11:00 am in Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home with Pastor David C. Montgomery officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 – 11:00 am.

 

Racine – Ethel Mae (nee: Lindsey) Queen, age 71, passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2019 surrounded with the love of her family.

Ethel was born in Panther Burn, Mississippi on July 25, 1948 to J.C. and Sadie Mae (nee: Carter) Lindsey. Married for over 50 years, she was united in marriage with Tallye Lamar Queen. Ethel was employed for many years at Cherry Electric as a switch assembler.

With a profound faith, Ethel’s home church was Ebenezer Baptist Church in Zion, IL under the leadership of Rev. Roosevelt Tart. When her health began to fail, Ethel attended Kingdom Word Global Impact Ministries under the leadership of Pastor David C. Montgomery. Among her interests, she enjoyed music & dancing, flower & vegetable gardening, sewing, cooking, fishing, and geocaching. Above all, Ethel was all about her family….they were her world.

Surviving are her husband, Tallye; daughters, Debbie Mae (Larry Banks) Lindsey-Banks and Patricia Lee Queen-Wright; mother, Sadie Mae Lindsey; grandchildren, Nakeya Hairston, Christopher Chandler, Jonathan Chandler, Isaiah Chandler, Alexandria Queen, Alicia Pettway & Marqus Pettway, Jr.; many adored great-grandchildren; brother, J.C. Lindsey II; sister, Sarah Lindsey-Meeks; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives & friends.

Ethel was preceded in death by her father, J.C. Lindsey; son-in-law, Ivy Jamal Wright; brothers & sisters, Matthew Carter, Lula Mae (Calvin) Lindsey-Godwin, Leon Lindsey, Jerome Lindsey, Lilly Mae Lindsey and Edward Lindsey; and brother-in-law, Reginald Meeks.

Services will be held on Friday, October 11, 2019 at 11:00 am in Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home with Pastor David C. Montgomery officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 – 11:00 am.
