Donald Eugene Clark

Jan 9, 1937 – Nov 9, 2019

Racine – Donald Eugene Clark, age 82, made his transition on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Peaceful Living Care Home in Racine, Wisconsin.  He was born on January 9, 1937 in Colp, Illinois to the late Earl and Mary (nee: Williams) Clark Sr. Don accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of his grandfather and father.

Donald received his formal education at Herrin High School in Herrin, Illinois and later attended Southern Illinois University.  Don proudly served his county in the United States Navy.  He was employed at the VA Hospital in Downey, Illinois before relocating to Racine, Wisconsin.  After moving to Wisconsin, he was employed by Danfoss (Webster Electric) where he retired in 1999 after thirty-six dedicated years of service.

In his leisure time Don enjoyed fishing, bowling and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Donald is survived by his loving wife Evelyn (nee: Watkins) Clark; daughter Cynthia (Johnny) Harris; son Anthony (Sylvia) Clark; nine grandchildren Johnny (Christa) Harris Jr., Antonique Clark, Sarah (Larry) Lee, Anthony Clark II, Mikaela Clark, Johari (Kenneth) Clark, Evelyn M. Clark,  Tasia Clark, Isaac Clark; eight great-grandchildren; his sister Darthell McCurdy, brother Julius (Claudia) Gails; step siblings Louis, Pearl and Vernell; sister in law Marcella Clark ; brothers in law Ronnie (Danetta) Payne and Eddie (Christina) Payne, as well as a host of other relatives and friends too numerous to mention by name.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; his great-granddaughter Londynne Lee; brothers Earl Clark Jr., Rodney Jones and Bennie Ray Jones; sister Ola Turner; brother in law Winston McCurdy; nephew Winston McCurdy Jr.; mother in law Katherine Payne; sister in law JoAnn Jones.

A Celebration of His Life will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2019 2:30pm, in the Chapel of Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home, 4600 County Line Rd., Racine, WI.  Visitation will be in the chapel from 2:00pm until the time of service.

    Don and I were not close but his daughter and grand children have relationships and I looked forward to his visits. I was close to his brother. Yes we are all pushing the age factor.
