James R. "Doogo" McDougal

Nov 27, 2019

Service Details

A celebration of his life will be held at the TinCAN Roadhouse, 20715 Durand Ave., Union Grove, on Sunday, December 15th, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m

Memorial Suggestions

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to an educational fund to be established for his sons. Please honor the family’s request.

James R. McDougal (Doogo), 53, passed away, at his residence, on Wednesday, November 27, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in Racine on June 28, 1966, the son of Robert and the late Bonnie (nee: Twesme) McDougal.

Jim graduated from J.I. Case High School. On July 20, 2002, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, he was united in marriage to Anna Alfano. Jim had been employed by Racine Unified School District for the past 31 years as the Warehouse Supervisor. He was a member of St. Rita’s Catholic Church, Roma Lodge, and the Moose Lodge #437. Jim enjoyed spending time up north in Eagle River with his family. His favorite past times included boating, fishing, hunting, golfing, cooking, bowling, shooting pool, snowmobiling, and watching the Brewers, Badgers and Packers. His most prize possessions were his two sons, Hayden and Domenic, “The Yahoos”. He enjoyed being their Cub Scout leader and loved watching them play sports. Above all else, Jim was a great father, husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He always lived life to the fullest, and his positive attitude and laugh could bring a smile to anyone’s face. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Surviving are his wife, Anna; their twin sons, Hayden and Domenic; his father, Robert McDougal; two sisters, Rose (Tom) Petersen, Jean (William) Mueller; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Buddy and Donna Alfano, all of Racine, sister-in-law, Lisa (Dennis) Gehrke, of Union Grove; nieces and nephews, Kevin (Julie Zaja) Fegler, Karla Fegler, Scott (Kristin) Petersen, Hannah and Isabella Gehrke; great nieces, Marcella Loomis, and Audrey Petersen. He was preceded in death by his mother.

The family extends a special thank you to the staff at Froedtert Hospital on 7CFAC (especially Molly, Mary Rodgers, Dr. Saeian, and Dr. Patel) and to Heartland Hospice for all of their loving and compassionate care and support during Jim’s time of need.

    Anna, Hayden& Dominic,
I just wanted to say that although I worked for Jim only for a little while, I felt the love he had for you 3. Jim would tell stories of goofy things you all did together, he was so very proud of each one of you. Anyone who knew him, knew how much he loved his family and his dog. I wish you strength to make it through this time of sorrow, but just know that when you wake in the morning and open your eyes, he is there with you always….much love and sympathies to all…

I had the pleasure of working with jim in the warehouse for almost 20 years as his boss as well as his friend. I enjoyed doodie as almost my kin in regards to rhe pride I took in watching grow into the man he came in latter life. I will always remember the pride that he took in his work habits as well as the love he had for his famly. his biggest joy was his marriage to Anna and the birth of his two sons. his love and pride whenever he talk about his famly reflected the love that he held for them. I will always cherish my time working with in the warehouse and I only hoped that some of what I taught him help make him the success that became. to doogie’s famly always try to remember how much that he cared for all of you. I know that I will remember him as a young man who grew into someone that you can always be proud d because I know how much he meant to me as a co-worker and a friend. God bless you Jim McDougal for being my friend.

Jim truly was fun to talk to. He always mentioned his lovely wife and how she made him so happy. Also he just beamed when he talked about his boys. The proud dad was always ready with a story of their adventures. Jim will definitely be missed by all.

I was so saddened to hear of Jim’s passing. I knew him in my early teens as he was good friends with my best friend and we would go to Door County. I remember him as someone who was funny, had a great sense of humor, very spirited and could always make you laugh. His sense of humor was contagious. My condolences to Anna and his 2 sons…..I am so sorry for your loss and will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Jim will be greatly missed! My condolences to his family. I enjoyed working with him at ASC, but I always knew I could count on him in a pinch when we needed something at school. He was a great guy and when I think of him I just remember that big smile he would always greet you with and having such a kind heart! He will be missed as a coworker and friend!

I had the honor and pleasure of knowing and working with Doogo in the warehouse. He grew from a fun loving boy to a gentle, kind family man. I have so many fond memories of him. He passed away on the same day that we always moved the Madrigal Dinner (the day before Thanksgiving) My heart is breaking for those he left behind. I know all too well the void that this will leave. A hole in your heart that will never heal. I pray that God gives you the strength and wisdom to get through this gut wrenching experience. When you lose someone you can’t imagine living without it leaves such a hurt that you never completely get over. May God give you peace. My love to you dear Anna,Hayden,Domenic, and your entire family, Lorie Trick 💞💞🙏
