Racine – Lois J. Schultz, age 56, passed away in her sleep on Sunday, March 22, 2020 at her home in Racine.
She was born in Paris, WI on April 10, 1963. She was number six of eight children born to Jim and Sylvia (Wiesneth) Frederick. She grew up with her siblings on their family farm where she learned about the value of hard work and the love of nature. She attended St John the Baptist grade school and graduated from Central High School.
On May 17, 1985, she married Pat Schultz and they had two sons, Ryan and Sam, who Lois cherished. She did cub scouts and was the lunch lady and was the mom that everyone loved. Lois was the best waitress you ever met. At restaurants like Big Boy, The Chancery and Jose’s Blue Sombrero, she was a favorite of customers and co-workers alike. She also served on the faculty of the Culinary Arts program at Gateway Technical College.
Lois treated everyone like an extension of her big extended family. She was a hard worker and would go above and beyond to help at a party or in a crisis. She had a big heart and a bright smile and a great laugh. She was the favorite auntie among her nieces and nephews and her grandchildren adored her for her kindness and exceptional care.
She and her husband “PatSchultz” as she always called him, were wonderful hosts for family get togethers. They loved to go Harley riding with friends and Lois would always end the journey with a rum and diet Coke. She was the best baker, a wonderful cook and a loyal and supportive friend. No one will be able to take her place.
Lois is survived by her husband Pat, her sons Ryan and Sam (Sarah Rothering) Schultz, and by her beloved grandchildren, Janessa, Kyrstin, Kiera, Faith and Elijah. She is further survived by her siblings, Theresa (Carl) Grasser, Marcy (Bill) Lofquist, Karen (Larry) Maniero, Ken (Kathy) Frederick, Linda (Mike) DeBrabander, Tom (Jane) Frederick and Michelle (Glen) Anderson. Also surviving Lois are her father and mother in-law Bob and Evelyn Schultz and her brother in-law Mike (Connie) Schultz. She leaves behind to cherish her memory dozens of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends who will remember her legacy of service and her unconditional love and support. Preceding Lois in death were her parents, her sister-in-law Connie Schultz and her niece Jessica Maniero.

Whether it was a stranger at work or a friend she hadn’t seen in a while you could always count on a big smile and a heart felt appreciation to see you. Truth be known, Lois had an affinity for tequila. Maybe it was from working at Jose’s, but probably from some earlier point when I was not familiar with her. Anyway, we knocked back a couple together and had some laughs. She was so easy to rely on, We had a few cries too. I will never forget, and treasure, the too short of time I was in her presence. RIP-My dear friend. I know you are waiting for us with some kind of something that has raspberries on it and tastes delicious. “BARKEEP, TWOSHOTS OF CUERVO, ONE FOR ME AND ONE FOR MY FRIEND!”
