Racine – Lawrence “Lee” Elton Dorval, age 64, passed away suddenly, yet peacefully, on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 following a brief battle with cancer.

Lee was born in Chincoteague, VA on July 2, 1955 to Elton and Barbara (nee: Barrett) Dorval. He was a 1973 Washington Park High School graduate. Lee was employed by various companies during his career, most recently at Farm & Fleet, from where he retired. Among his interests, Lee was a talented woodworker who also spent time whittling; raising & tending to his bees; golfing; and was an all-around artist.

Surviving are his sisters, Stephanie (Skip) Weidner & Aimee (Dolph) Singstock; nieces & nephews, Anthony (Kacy), Matthew & Andrew Weidner; Rebecca Pulda, Kevin Singstock, Benjamin (Kim)Dorval & Alison Dorval; great-nieces & nephews, Nathan, Brandon, Nolan, Brookelyn, Ellie, Barrett, Carlton, Elias & Faith; many other dear relatives & friends – too numerous to mention all by name.

In addition to his parents, Lee was preceded in death by his brother, Barrett “Barry” Dorval; and nephew, Joshua Dorval.

In accordance with Lee’s wishes, a private family gathering will be held. In memory of Lee, offer a kind deed to someone in need.

Lee was my best friend who I’ve known since 7th grade at McKinley Jr High. He was always helping people and has always been a true friend to me. I was with him 2 Saturdays ago when He came to visit me at my house. I will miss my friend dearly and I know he is in Heaven and no longer suffering. Rest in Peace Lee.

I will miss Lee a lot. Lee told me many times, as too how much he liked antiques. I am a fan as well, when it comes to antiquing. We talked about getting together, possibly this year. You will be missed, my friend!

Testimonials

November 13, 2019

The funeral service was just beautiful and very warming to everyone including my family. All the pictures they did and the employees were just fantastic. This is one funeral home I would highly recommend to anyone that wants to feel comfortable and to be treated like family. I can’t say enough good things because it was just such a warm welcome. Thank you to Mark and Mike. We couldn’t have done it without all of you.

Jim Ferdon
