Service Details

Homegoing services will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at 2: 00 p.m. at Christian Faith Fellowship Church, 3303 Nicholson Rd., Franksville, WI. Full military honors will follow.  A visitation for Jimmie will take place at the church on Saturday from 12 Noon until the time of the service.

Jimmie Lee Reed, age 73 was called home on Saturday, July 4, 2020.

He was born in Pontotoc, Mississippi on March 26, 1947 a son of Charlie and Minnie (nee: Nichols) Reed.  He moved to Beloit, WI in 1948 and relocated to Milwaukee, WI in 1964 where he resided until the time of his death.

Jimmie was a graduate of West Division High School in Milwaukee and upon graduation entered the U.S. Army.  He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War entering in 1966 serving in the Mortuary Affairs Division until his discharge from active duty in 1968.

Jimmie was a teacher’s aide for the Milwaukee Public Schools, then drove bus  for Lamar’s Bus Company for five years and finished his employment at Patrick Cudahy until his retirement, then bowling became his job and passion.  Jimmie also enjoyed good “old school” R & B music, dancing, and was a fanatic fan of the Seattle Sea Hawks and the Denver Broncos.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Tina (Craig) Morris of Racine; his grandchildren, DiAngilo J. Hiller, Dylan E. Morris, Finesse C. Marshall, and Kira E. Morris: his great granddaughter Khya.  He is further survived by his mother, Minnie Nichols of Milwaukee; his siblings, Marilyn Stokes of Milwaukee, Debra Ann (Willie) Williams of Georgia, Dorothy (David) Jackson of Milwaukee, Jerome (Pamela) Nichols of Milwaukee; Debra Reed, Valerie Reed, Theresa Reed & Charles Reed, all of Tupelo, MS; Georgia Robertson of Grand Rapids, MI; and Larry Reed of California; and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Jimmie was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Reed; and four sisters, Loreen Davenport, Maxine Purvis, Delores Nichols, and Alice Nichols.

    Jimmie, my memories are watching you play softball and then partying at the sponsors and Robert D’s where we had fun on the dance floor! We also managed to meet up at bowling tournaments and you pointed out the bums I should stay away from! R.I.P friend. Heaven got another angel!
