William G. Boeck (Bill), 76, passed away at Ascension-All Saints on Thursday, January 14th, 2021. He was born in Racine on March 10th, 1944 the son of the late Lesley and Doris (nee: Ruzicka) Boeck.

Bill was a graduate of Washington Park High School Class of ’62. On September 16th, 1967, in St. Patrick’s Church, he was united in marriage to Janice Mary Zierke.  Bill served his country, joining the Army from 1962-1965. He was stationed in Germany working for the post office.  Following his service,  he worked at the family business, Boeck Fuel Co.  He then worked for Walker Manufacturing and Jacobsen’s in Racine.  Bill went on to be employed by the U.S. Post Office for over 20 years, retiring in 2004.  He grew up spending summers at his grandparents’ cottage on Pine Lake.  His grandfather taught him to fish and shoot and his parents eventually built on the same lake, which gave him a lifetime of memories that he shared with his family.

Bill was a family man who always put his family first.  When Jan began teaching full time, he supported her by typing curriculum for over 19 years.  He always looked forward to having his children and grandchildren around.  Bill and Jan were fortunate to have shared over 53 years of memories together that will always live on in their hearts.

Bill enjoyed flying airplanes, working on cars, snowmobiling, and riding his Harley. He always dreamed of flying and enjoyed piloting 3 ultra-lite aircraft and built a hanger at Idle Wild airport in Wild Rose, WI.  He met many of his lifelong friends flying during the summers. His pride and joy was his black 1999 Camaro SS.  Bill and Jan belonged to the Snowmads and Hiawatha Snowmobile Clubs, as well as the H.O.G and Retreads Motorcycle Clubs.

Surviving are his wife, Janice, their children, Heather Boeck, of Montgomery, IL, and Justin Boeck, of Miami, FL; two granddaughters, Olivia, and Morgan; two brothers, Robert (Joy) Boeck, of Racine, and James (Debbie) Boeck, of Oak Creek. He was preceded in death by his parents, Les and Doris Boeck, his brother, Thomas Boeck, his grandparents, Anthony and Valasta Ruzicka and Frank and Charlotte Boeck. Other relatives and friends are also remembered.

I am so sad to lose my pen-pal of 59 years! We met through my brother Steve who took Army Basic Training with Bill in 1962 & we became pen-pals! As the years passed, we met our future spouses & raised our families, and our families continued as pen-pals! I always knew Bill to be an stand-up guy and a dear friend! My heart is with Jan and her extended family. Love you all!
