Tony Rydelle Epps Sr. was born in Racine, WI on November 17, 1960 to Willie “Sallie” Mae (Charles) Epps-Claybrook and John “JW” Wesley (Queen) Brown. As a child growing up, Tony received Christ at an early age and attended St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church and as an adult he attended Abundant Life. He went to and graduated from Park High School in 1978. Tony got married in the early 90s to the love of his life, Glenda King and was together 34 years before she went on to be with the Lord. He resided in Minnesota for many years and worked as a Brick Mason. He moved back to WI, in 2012 once his wife fell sick to have more support from family. Tony was very known in Racine for riding around on his bike or walking around fresh in a nice pair of Jordans with his sunglasses on. Tony was very interested in live band music and you could always catch him listening to some sort of music loud on his phone. Tony was a true family man, which was shown by him always spending time with his “papa babies” (grandchildren) that he loved so dearly. He had a special bond with each and every one of them. To know Tony, was to love Tony. His presence was always known no matter where he was. If you was special to him, he gave you a special nick name which was nothing close to your real name. Tony was always him, no matter what.
Tony is survived by his mother, Willie “Sallie” Mae Epps-Claybrook; father, John “JW” Wesley Brown; children, Tony (Melissa) Epps Jr., Ishay (Matthew) Epps, Michell’e Epps, Dazzmontay King Sr.; brothers, John (Michelle) Epps, Ron Epps, Kevin Claybrook, Charles Claybrook, Rodney King, James King, Jimmy Carter Sr., Justin Turner; sisters, Sandra (Elgin) Martin, Brenda King, Kasia Claybrook, Sharon Claybrook; God Son, Jimmie Carter Jr.; Special Nieces, Natasha (Delancy) Mullen, Drena Martin, Martineak Donald; Special Aunt/Other Mother, Rosie Moore; Special Cousins, Val (Javonna) Lue, Kevin Bostick, Dorothy & Jasmine Wilson, 14 grandchildren, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives; entirely too many to name.
