Denise Diann Byers

Service Details

A celebration of her life will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, April 4th.  Visitation from 4:00-6:00pm with a service to follow at 6:00pm.  Immediately following the service, you are welcome to join the family for a continued celebration at her sister’s house.  The address will be provided at the funeral home or by request.

Denise D. Byers, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2024. She was born in Racine on July 23, 1962, the daughter of the late Marvin and Charlotte (nee: Huff) Osenga.

On July 7, 1984, in the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, here in Racine, she was united in marriage to Jeffrey W. Byers. Denise had been employed by Burgess Anderson and Tate, Andis Corp, Lacrosse Footwear Inc. (Rainfare), and All Saints.

Denise was a member of Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church, where she sang with the choir for many years.  She was also an accomplished pianist and organist.

Surviving are her husband, Jeffrey; their daughter, Heidi (Jason) Lewerenz, granddaughter, Arya of Racine; sister, Debbie (Mark) McKinney, of Franksville; nephew, Adam Heaps; aunt, Marion Osenga, of Racine; aunt, Diann (Charlie) Hostettler of Jacksonville, FL; cousin Lori (Sebastian) Stanciu of Jacksonville, FL, cousin, Brian (Liz) Hostettler of Jacksonville, FL; father-in-law George (Kathy) Byers of Saukville; brother-in-law Tim Byers of Milwaukee; brother-in-law Greg (Lori) Byers of Grafton.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Albert (Annabelle) Huff; grandparents Andrew (Caroline) Osenga; uncle, Einar Carlson; and mother-in-law Sandy (George) Byers.

 

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Azura Memory Care Community in Oak Creek and St. Croix Hospice for taking such good care of Denise.
