Al-Hajji Fard Mohammed

vet
Jul 6, 1951 – Dec 8, 2020

Service Details

Per Fard’s wishes, a private service with military honors will take place for his family.  His interment will follow at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

Al-Hajji Fard Mohammed, of Racine, WI, went home to be with his Creator on December 8, 2020.

He was born July 6, 1951, in Chicago, IL to Al-Hajji Mussa Muhammad and Rebecca Dilworth both who preceded him in death along with his brothers and sister; Willie Neely, Keith Dilworth Sr., Moses Dilworth II, Hasan Muhammad, and Ja-Pearlnettia Smith.

Fard served in the ROTC and Job Corp programs in Chicago, Illinois. He was a trooper with the Boy Scotts, and he later enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served honorably during the Vietnam war. Fard accepted Islam at the age of thirteen. He studied Islam under the leadership of Imam W. Deen Mohammed, becoming a scholar and completing his hajj to Mecca on December 23, 1977.

Fard worked nearly a decade for Grady Foundry, in Milwaukee, WI, until their closure. He went on to work at J.I. Case High School as a hall monitor in Racine, WI where he enjoyed working with at risk youth, encouraging them to graduate high school. Fard enjoyed meeting new people and having long and deep conversations about life, religion, and current events. He found great pleasure in volunteering his time at Riverside Marina, where his long-time friend of forty years, Mark Monroe (Lynn) worked.  When he was not volunteering, he enjoyed taking pictures, creating scrapbooks, listening to music, and playing cribbage. Fard had also been an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous since the 1970s.

Surviving Fard, are his daughters, Shanah Delacy of Mount Pleasant, WI, and Savannah Sparkman – Mohammed of Stevens Point, WI; his grandson, Taylor Austin Stoner and his great grandson, Tabias Taylor Stoner of Racine, WI; his brothers, John (LaJoyce) Neely of Hillside, IL and Ja-Parlnenio Muhammad of Granger, IN; his sisters, Victoria Vaughn of San Antonio, TX, Tanya F. Muhammad of Omaha, Nebraska; stepmother, Lois Muhammad of South Bend Indiana; Aunt Elnora Jackson of Saginaw, MI; uncle, Joseph Dilworth of Arkansas; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Hospice Alliance Kenosha, WI.

Fard was blessed to have a circle of friends who truly loved and cared for him; the family would like to give a special thank you to Devon, Kim and Kurt, Chad, Vanessa, Harold, and Mark & Lynn; the family appreciates all their help.

So sorry to hear about the loss of Fard, he was a patient at the Cancer Center at Froedtert and I got to know him, I just ran across a book that he had given me with a beautiful hand written note, it brought joy to my heart to finally realize the message he was telling me.

Testimonials

May 24, 2018

I can’t express my gratitude enough to Mike and the Draeger-Langendorf staff for such great service provided to us, as we made arrangements to lay our brother to rest. You all went above and beyond to make sure we understood every detail there was to know, from the greatest to the smallest. When we walked out of your office, we walked out with peace, knowing that our brother was in good hands. Thank you Mike for adding that special touch to my brother’s service, that’s the kind of stuff that separates you all from the rest. Once again Thank you so much.
