Racine – Andrew David Czajkowski, 65, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, May 20, 2017. He was born in Racine on March 26, 1952, son of the late Stanley and Maxine (Née: Forss) Czajkowski.

Andrew was united in marriage to the love of his life, the former Merrilee Mae Berner, on October 29, 1983.

Andrew graduated from J.I. Case High School in 1969. He proudly and faithfully served his country in the United States Navy Reserve. Andrew was employed by Bosch for 30 years until they closed. He was currently an Arneson assembler for Twin Disc and an assistant manager for AutoZone.

Andrew had a passion for hot rods, racing and was a member of the NHRA. He absolutely loved his 1956 Chevrolet Nomad. Andrew enjoyed attending car shows and swap meets. He was always there for anyone in need and would give you the shirt off his back. Above all, Andrew loved his family tremendously and loved spending time with his only granddaughter, Milee.

Andrew leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of over 33 years, Merrilee Czajkowski; children, Nick (Brad Violand) Czajkowski, Megan (Kevin Peterson) Czajkowski; granddaughter, Milee Pezall; brother, Stan Czajkowski; sister-in-law, Melody (Bill) Sorensen; brothers-in-law, Craig (Mary) Berner, Randy (Kay) Berner; nieces and nephews, Stephanie (Colin Friesen) Czajkowski, Ed (Diane Kompanik) Czajkowski, Ted (Laura) Czajkowski; other nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends too numerous to mention.

In addition to his parents, Andrew is preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Cheri Czajkowski.

A memorial celebration of Andrew’s life will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2017, 12:00pm, at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, 4600 County Line Road. Visitation will be from 10:00am until the time of the service. The family has suggested memorials to Merrilee Czajkowski.

The family has asked all to bring their classic car or race car to the service if possible.

I remember Andy from Racine Hydraulics as a an easy going, fun loving guy with a smile. Met him again a few years ago at a car show. He was the same person. Easy to talk to, content with who he was.

Dear Merrilee and family, so sorry for your loss. My Husband and I worked with Andy at Bosch for over 25 years. I worked in the same office with him. I think his favorite football team was the Bears. He use to get kidded every time they played and lost but his faith in them never wavered. I also use to relieve his Mother at the switch board and took her golfing every Tuesday when the weather permitted it. I have a lot of fond memories of Andy and his Mother. I send you my prayer, love, hugs and kisses. Sandy Sorensen

I’m so very sorry for your loss. Andy and I worked at Whitlock Auto Supply and I looked for him every time I visited Auto Zone. I remember hearing stories of building His Nomad and looked forward to talking to him at the custom auto shows too. Andy gave me so many great memories of working together and he taught me so much about looking up parts and the auto industry as a whole. I went in to Auto Zone today and asked for Andy and told the parts guy I usually miss Andy on His off hours. That’s when he said Andy tased. My heart became heavy and I’m just speechless. I’ll cary Andy’s memory in very high regards as he was a truly a wonderful man.
