Angeline Jane Kapellusch

Apr 11, 1921 – Jun 18, 2007

Racine- Angeline Jane Kapellusch, 86, passed away at Ridgewood Care Center on Monday, June 18, 2007. A lifetime resident, she was born in Racine on April 11, 1921 to the late John and Jane (nee: Andropolis) Simopulos. On January 25, 1946 in Trinity Lutheran Church, Angie was united in marriage with her devoted husband Clarence “Kap” Kapellusch, who died unexpectedly on January 17, 1979. A faithful and dedicated homemaker, she was a devoted member and longtime volunteer of Lutheran Church of the Redeemer. Years ago, she also enjoyed volunteering at Hansche School. Proudly patriotic, Angie wrote many inspiring letters, to several of her soldier pen-pals, who were heroically fighting in Operation Desert Storm. Among her other interests, she was an avid sports fan (especially of the Brewers and Packers) and was a phenomenal baker (she loved making pies and cakes). Above all, she loved and cherished being in the surroundings of her entire family. Surviving are her children, John L. (Carol) Kapellusch, Robert A. (Sue) Kapellusch, Ronald C. (Cynthia) Kapellusch and Karen M. (Andrew) Brooks; grandchildren, Jay (Julie), Joel (Sarah), Daniel, and Kristin Kapellusch; Andrea (A.J.) Godson; Christopher, Elizabeth, Nicholas and Joseph Brooks; brothers, Louis (Patricia) Smith and Andrew (Carolyn) Smith; sister, Minnie Holz; special friend, Joseph Sill; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Angie was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Ulrich and Bessie Petak; and infant brother, George. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 22, 2007 in Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 2417 Drexel Ave., at 1:00 pm with Rev. Molly L. Doreza officiating. Interment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 11 am – 12:45 pm. At Angie’s request, in lieu of flowers, memorials to Lutheran Church of the Redeemer are suggested. Donations to Hospice Alliance would also be gratefully accepted. A special note of thanks to Hospice Alliance and to Ridgewood Care Center for the compassionate care and support that was so warmly extended to Angie and to our family. God bless all of you!
