
Mrs. Ann C. Reader, 95, died at Woodstock Health Care Center of Kenosha on Saturday, August 12, 2006. A lifetime resident of Racine, she was born on July 27, 1911 to the late John and Pauline (nee: Vallach) Chovan. On February 14, 1942, she married Robert D. Reader. He preceded her in death on July 22, 1991. Ann graduated from Milwaukee State Teachers College and worked as an elementary school teacher at Racine Unified for over 30 years. She began her career at Garfield School and retired from Mitchell. She was a longtime member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Upon the church’s consolidation she joined St. Paul the Apostle. In her younger years Ann enjoyed bowling, golfing and playing Schafkopf. Ann belonged to ladies golf leagues at both Washington and Johnson Parks. Her survivors include her son, Robert (Betty) Cseh of Palmyra, VA; grandchildren, Robert T. Cseh of Washington, NJ, Catherine (Robert) Reed of Australia; great grandchildren, Megan and Brian Reed of Australia; sister, Mary Medzis of Racine; sister-in-law, Dorothy Chovan of Bonita Springs, FL and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by first husband, Louis Cseh in 1932; brothers, Joe and John Chovan; brother-in-law, John P. Medzis and sister-in-law, Cele Cseh. Family and friends are invited to at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church (6400 Spring St.) on Friday, August 18, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. for the celebration of Ann’s funeral mass with Rev. William Dietzler officiating. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery Mausoleum. There will be a visitation in the church on Friday morning from 9-10 a.m. Memorials have been suggested to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church or the Alzheimer’s Association.
