Ann (Née: Cardiff) Krekling, 82, passed away surrounded by the love of her children at The Villa at Lincoln Park on Saturday, April 28, 2018. She was born in Racine, Wisconsin on July 31, 1935, daughter of the late J. Burton and Gladys (Née: Beveridge) Cardiff.
Ann lived in Sturtevant and Racine her entire life. She worked at First Bank SE (where she dreaded balancing each day!), Fratt School, in the lunchroom, and Schulte and Knapp Schools as a teacher’s assistant. Ann graduated from Washington Park High School, Racine, Wisconsin and Stephens College, Columbus Missouri. Ann loved to spend time with her children, travel to Minnesota (with a stop at the casino!) with her best friend Bonnie, read a good book and above all, to vacation in Door County at the family cabin. Throughout her life she especially enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren play in their sports, she was their biggest fan!
Ann is survived by her daughter, Lisa (Steve) Sorenson of Waterford, Wisconsin; sons, Jeff (Sandy) Krekling of Hayfield Minnesota, Steve (Sherri) Krekling of Sturtevant, Wisconsin, and Mark (Kelly) Krekling of Racine, Wisconsin; grandsons/granddaughters, Eric and Daniel Sorenson, Kasey, Jordyn, and Tyler Krekling, Lindsey and Laurin Krekling, Mitchel, Logan and Kody Krekling; great granddaughter Mila (who Ann thought was the prettiest baby ever!); brother, Joe Cardiff; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Krekling; sisters-in-law, Dorothy (Dot) Cardiff, in-laws, Harry and Mildred Krekling; brother-in-law, Robert (Bobby) Krekling; and best friend, Bonnie Krug.

Ann’s children would like to give special thanks to the staff (especially nurse, Jen and therapist, Lynn) at The Villa at Lincoln Park for all their care and Kindred Hospice for their support. They would also like to thank the Cardiff & Meister families, Kathy Karlsen, Polly Bose, Mary Boudreau, Sue & Wayne Krekling and Cookie Walek for all their visits and support to Ann and her children throughout their time of need. She had more visitors than all the other residents put together!
