Flowers by Joseph

Slinger – Anthony William Molinaro, 84, passed away at Froedtert St. Joseph’s Hospital in West Bend on Wednesday, January 10, 2018. He was born on June 21, 1933 to Italian immigrants Henry and Rose (nee: Ricchio) Molinaro. Tony grew up in Lakeside, a four-block slice of Mount Pleasant on the south side of Racine.  He graduated from Park High School in 1951, where he excelled in basketball. On June 15, 1975 he was married to Kathleen Margaret Karasch in Elkhorn.

Tony worked for many years as an inspector at WEenergies, retiring in 1995.  He was always very social and made friends easily. Tony loved friendly conversation, and his annual stay in Florida where he made lots of friends and was able to stroll in the warmth. He and Kathy lived in Milwaukee for a time, then successively bought farms near East Troy, Cedarburg and Slinger. At each farm they upgraded the houses, barns and outbuildings, and Tony helped Kathy in her antique business. Tony took over his father’s membership at the Roma Hall and remained a lifetime member.

Tony is survived by his devoted wife, Kathy Molinaro; daughter Antoinette Molinaro; 2 grandchildren, Nigel and Axel; 2 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law Edith and Bill Hibbard; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers and their wives: Eugene and Carolyn, Robert and Mary Ellen, and Albert and Marilyn.

Funeral services for Tony will be held in the funeral home on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Caledonia. Friends and relatives are invited to visit in the funeral home on Friday from 9:30 until the start of the service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be directed to the St Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Ave, Racine, WI 53403 or The Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research at www.michaeljfox.org

We express our heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff at St. Joseph’s hospital for their kindness and dedicated care Tony received during his brief time with you.

We met twice in our Life, in 1974 in Calabria and in 2001 in Frascati (Roma).
He was a nice and exceptional person, so I had baptized him “Zapata”. He always smiled when I called him so. He left us, it is a sad day. this is the life. I keep a nice memory of him.
I take this das occasion to make our heartfelt condolences to this sister and brothers, me and my family.
    Mario Ricchio.

My condolences to the family. Tony was always a fun guy to be around. We both attended Lakeside School and were teammates on the championship St Lucy’s basketball team. Tony was a much better player than I was. I am sorry for your loss.
