Archie Alfred Gandy died peacefully at Ascension Living-Lakeshore at Siena Nursing Home in Racine, Wisconsin on September 20, 2025 at the age of 88. He was born on January 23, 1937 in Shucktown, Mississippi to Aubrey and Louise (Williams) Gandy. Archie was the 4th of 7 children. He often shared with his family fond memories of his childhood growing up among extended family. From a very young age until his death, family was essential to Archie’s very being.

Archie was an avid reader which he attributed to many of his grade schoolteachers. He inspired and motivated others professionally and personally throughout his 30-year career in the United States Air Force, followed by 15 years in the United States Civil Service. He was recognized and respected as exemplary by the men and women above and below his rank as Senior Master Sergeant in the USAF, along with many others who came to know him throughout his lifetime. As the patriarch of the Gandy-Williams family, he provided guidance and wisdom along with inspiration and motivation to succeeding generations with the emphasis on education and personal integrity.

Archie also was an entrepreneur in the marketing field and has spoken publicly on the virtues and profitability of investing in oneself and others. His passion for baseball was only surpassed by that of football. He was an ardent fan of the Oakland Raiders, Oakland Athletics, San Francisco 49ers, Milwaukee Bucks, Brewers, and Green Bay Packers.

Testimonials

Lisa Burczyk

My husband, Tom, died on Jan. 24, 2015. From that life-changing day and still now, Gary and his sons have been at my side taking care of me, advising me, and guiding me with their sensitive, caring, and efficient expertise. I have heard from friends and family how perfect and wonderful the funeral service was (it was a blur for me), and I have the beautiful obit, memorial booklets, CD rom of slide show, celebration candle, portrait, and even personalized thank you cards to provide memories and comfort during difficult days ahead. My heart is full of thanks and appreciation to Gary Langendorf and his entire family.
