Barbara Jean Myhre, 61, passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2021. She was born in Burlington on July 15, 1960, the daughter of the late Richard and Grace Cook.
Barbara Myhre graduated from Wisconsin School for the Deaf (WSD) in Delavan, Wi, Class of 1979. At WSD she was a manager of both track and field and girls’ volleyball teams. Upon graduating, she then studied accounting at Saint Paul Technical Vocational institute in St. Paul, MN. Barbara would later marry and divorce Ricky Myhre with whom she had two sons.
Barbara was an avid painter and loved to work with her hands. She loved to watch soap operas and her two favorite game shows, The Price is Right and the Wheel of Fortune. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family and especially loved spending time with her lifelong partner John Lichtenberg; the two were inseparable. In her later years, Barbara would enjoy long car rides in the summer and spending time with her sons. Barbara was an inspiration to her sons and will be sorely missed.
Barbara leaves to cherish her memory her two sons, Richard and Robert Myhre; grandson, Gabriel Myhre; brother, Allen Cook; niece and nephew, Benjamin and Sarah Cook; Aunt Shirley Lepow of Kewaunee, Aunt Audrey (Harold) Pedersen of Tomahawk, Uncle Curtis (Arvilla) Cook, Lakeville, Minn; other relatives and dear friends too numerous to mention. The family extends special thanks to LPN- Kimberly McClain and caregivers, Desiree McClain, Julie McClain, and Minnie Johnson.
Barbara is preceded in death by her father, Richard R. Cook; mother, Grace E. Cook; stepmother, Opal Cook; and Lifelong Partner, John Lichtenberg.
A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2021, at 5:00 pm, at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, 4600 County Line Road. He will wipe away every tear from their eye, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away. – Revelation 21:4

Testimonials

November 13, 2019

I just can’t get over how beautiful everything was for my mom’s funeral. She had a rough last four weeks but your amazing team totally did her justice! I was pretty confused during that hard time, but Brian, you made sure that all the “I”s were dotted and all the “T”s crossed. For that, I thank you. I also would like to thank the amazing team of makeup artists. My mom looked beautiful.
