Bernard Jon Puder

Sep 29, 1919 – Nov 16, 2006

Bernard J. Puder, 87, died at his residence on Thursday, Nov. 16, 2006. He was born in Kenosha on Sept. 29, 1919, the son of the late Bernard B. and Lillian (nee: Hellriegel) Puder. On Nov. 12, 1941 he entered the U.S. Army Air Corps and served most of his service time in Europe. He was discharged on Nov. 28, 1945 as an Assistant Crew Chief. On May 6, 1946, in Chicago, IL, he was united in marriage to the former Elsie Schuh, who preceded him in death on Feb. 5, 1989. On March 3, 1990, he was united in marriage to Juanita Boggs, who preceded him in death on March 17, 2003. Mr. Puder was a letter-carrier with the U.S. Post Office for over 32 years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers Branch 574, and a Past Commander of the V.F.W. Post in LaFarge, WI. Mr. Puder enjoyed playing cribbage, traveling, gardening, playing his harmonica and polka dancing. Surviving are his children; Robert (Barbara) Puder of Racine, Cathy (Drew) Lambrecht of Humbird, WI, Gary (Carol) Puder of Madison WI, LuAnn (Robert) Desotelle of Sturgeon Bay, WI, Charles (Katheran Olsen) Puder of Yorkville, WI, Richard (Karen Kay) Puder of Sturtevant; 11 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; his step-son Jerry (Jeanette) Boggs of La Crosse, WI, 2 step grandchildren; his sister Lucille Albrecht, brother Donald (Nadine) Puder, brother-in-law Clifford Plaisted all of Kenosha. His nieces, nephews other relatives and friends further survive him. In addition to his parents and two wives, he was also preceded in death by his brother James Puder and sister Bernice Plaisted. His Memorial Service will be held in the funeral home on Sunday, November 19th, at 4:00 p.m.. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Full military honors will follow the service. Private inurnment will take place at a later date in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. The family has suggested memorials to your favorite charity.
