RACINE – Bessie Eloise (nee Jenkins) Judon passed into eternal life Tuesday morning April 4, 2017 at North Mississippi Medical Center, Tupelo, MS.  She was born October 24, 1948, to the late Reverend Arnette and Effie (Henry) Jenkins. Bessie accepted Christ at an early age while attending Brodock Baptist Church in New Albany, MS, under the leadership of Reverend Arnette Jenkins.  After retiring in 2004 and retuning to Mississippi, Bessie united with Oak Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend David High.

Bessie was educated at B.F.  Ford School and graduated with the Class of 1967”.  She furthered her education at Parkside College. Bessie retired from the City of Racine in 2004 and also worked at Rainfair for many years.  Bessie was a multitalented woman who never met a stranger.  She was known for opening up their home to many and providing a meal to plenty.  Bessie’s smile and charm was worth millions.  That smile and charm led her to the love of her life John H. Judon.

John and Bessie were united in marriage on May 26, 1968 in New Albany, Ms.  There would be 2 children born to this union.  Bessie leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 48 years John,  daughters Kimiko and Veronica Judon; grandsons Jonta Simpson (Kenosha, WI), Jontrel and Javion Judon; granddaughter Victoria Judon; great grandson Jeremiah Simpson; sisters Hazzie Owens (Memphis, TN), Daisy Erby (New Albany, MS), Willie Mae Scales (Racine, WI), Eula Williams (Chicago, IL),  Lillian Starks (Racine WI), Linda Taylor (Racine, WI), Diane Jenkins (Racine, WI); brothers James and Roy Jenkins (New Albany, MS); numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Bessie was also preceded in death by her parents, sisters Luenell and Victoria Jenkins, Toni Jackson, Earnestine Carothers and brother Reverend Charles Jenkins.

Family and friends are invited to meet at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church (1120 Grand Ave.) on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 for a visitation from 10-11 a.m.  The celebration of her life and Homegoing will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Bishop Lawrence L. Weep Not For Me

    By an Unknown Author

Weep not for me though I have gone
    Into that gentle night
Grieve if you will, but not for long
    Upon my soul’s sweet fight

I am at peace, my soul’s at rest
There is no need for tears
For with your love I was so blessed
    For all those many years

There is no pain, I suffer not
The fear is now all gone
Put now these things out of your thoughts
In your memory I live on

Remember not my fight for breath
    Remember not the strife
Please do not dwell upon my death
    But celebrate my life
