Betty Jane Miller

Dec 4, 1931 – Apr 1, 2011

Racine – Betty Jane (Zogrodnik) Miller, 79, passed away at WFH Lakeshore Manor on Friday, April 1, 2011. Betty was born in Milwaukee on December 4, 1931, daughter of the late Theodore and Lucille (nee: Bay) Elliot.

Betty took great pride and pleasure in caring for home and family, and would have been described by many as a “Betty Crocker” mom. She loved to cook and bake, was an accomplished seamstress, and well regarded for keeping a perfect household. Betty had great appreciation for music, especially for Mozart. She also had a beautiful voice and loved to sing. Her wonderful sense of humor will be missed by many.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Gerrit Van Vulpen of Bonita Springs, Florida; her sister and brother-in-law, Arline and Harold Burkhardt of Sarasota, Florida; as well as many dear nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends in Racine. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lester D. Miller; her son, Larry Zogrodnik; and her sister, Joann Hedgewood.

Funeral services for Betty J. Miller will be held in the funeral home at 5pm on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 with Rev. Jeffery Thielen officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Tuesday beginning at 4pm. Private interment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park.

Expressions of deep gratitude are extended to the entire staff at WFH Lakeshore Manor. Thank you for the kindness and compassion my mom received while in your care. God bless all of you!

 Laura

Testimonials

October 22, 2015

Dear Bob,
I just wanted to thank you again for all your help and everything you did for my grandfather’s funeral. Looking back on it, I think Gramps would have been so proud of how everything turned out and it would not have been possible without your help. Your staff is amazing and has allowed us the grieve without worrying about the little details of everything that goes into making the arrangements and planning the services. You helped us honor one of the most amazing men in my life, and it meant so much to me personally and to my family. Thank you for everything.
Take care,
Jessie Tuttle
