Beverly Ione Langendorf, 87, passed away, in the Becker Shoop Center, on Thursday, November 3, 2016. She was born in Racine on November 10, 1928 the daughter of the late Daniel Elmer and Edna Louise (Schmidt) Langendorf.
Bev was a graduate of Washington Park High School. She had been employed by the Zahn’s Department Store for over 20 years as a buyer for the cosmetic and jewelry departments. Bev was a lifetime member of Pentecost Lutheran Church, and the 55 Plus Club (formerly the Ruth’s Circle). She enjoyed reading, playing cards, having breakfast at De Rango’s on Washington, and going to various Casinos. In her younger years she traveled all over the United States with her friends. She especially loved eagle watching in the Prairie du Chien Area, and family get- togethers. Bev was thoughtful, kind, and generous. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Surviving are her sister, Betty Schattner, of Union Grove, sister-in-law, Joan Langendorf, of Racine, nieces and nephews, Lois Perman, Leanne (Rick) Greil, Richard (Ingrid) Schattner, David (Tammy) Langendorf, and Daniel (Katie) Langendorf, great-nieces, and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, Daniel and Edna, Bev was preceded in death by her brothers, Earl Langendorf, who was killed in WWII, and Donald Langendorf, and brother-in-law, Vernon Schattner.
Her funeral service will be held in Pentecost Lutheran Church, 2213 Coolidge Ave., on Wednesday, November 9th at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Luke Jacob officiating. Visitation will be in the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral. Burial will follow in Mound Cemetery.
Bev requested, in lieu of flowers, memorials should be directed to the church.
The family would like to thank the entire staff of, Wheaton Franciscan Health Care, the Becker-Shoop Center, the Marquardt Village Hospice, for the support and loving care they gave to Bev and her family during her stay with them.
