Billy Ray Mills

Feb 26, 1960 – Aug 12, 2006

Racine- Billy Ray Mills, 46, was born into Eternal Life on Saturday, August 12, 2006 from the All Saints-St. Mary’s Medical Center. He was born on February 26, 1960 to Charles Mills Sr. and Peggy Ann (nee: Hopkins) Mills. Billy attended the Evanston Township High School, where he was active with the drum and bugle corps. On January 29, 1994 in Skokie, IL, Billy was united in marriage with Patrece Nanette Howze. They have lived in Racine for the past 5 years. Billy Ray proudly served the community of Evanston, IL by working for the City and at The Womens’ Club. A devoted family man, he enjoyed helping others especially in their time of need. Music and cars were his hobbies. Above all, he placed his family number one in his life and was happiest when surrounded by all of them. May he rest in peace. In addition to his beloved wife, Patrece, Billy is survived by his cherished children, Antonio Johnson, Courtney Mills Sr., Elizabeth Robinson, Jessica Mills, Melissa Mills, Deven Mills and Lyndsay Mills; grandchildren, Taniya Mills and Courtney Mills Jr., his parents, Charles and Peggy Ann Mills Sr.; brothers, Freddie Hopkins, James Hopkins, Charles Mills Jr., and Kevin (Nicole) Mills; and sisters, Gwen Hopkins and Sharon Mills. Billy Ray will also be missed by a host of other special relatives, in-laws and friends too numerous to mention by name. Billy Ray was preceded in death by his younger brother, Bernard Mills. Homegoing Services will be celebrated on Monday, August 21, 2006 at 12:00 noon at Midtown Church of Christ, 1704 – 13th Street, with Brother Kennon D. Olison, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Viewing will be in the church on Monday from 11am-12 noon.
