Franksville – Cary Sue Lehner, 54, received the promise of eternal life on Thursday, March 30, 2017. She was born in Racine on April 16, 1962, daughter of Thomas and Miriam (née: Borgardt) Dziekan.
Cary was united in marriage to her loving husband, Timothy Scott Lehner, on August 27, 1993, at North Cape Lutheran Church.
Cary graduated from Fennimore High School in 1979 as a junior. She attended nursing school at Gateway Technical College in Racine. Cary was an RN for Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare up until the time of her death.
Cary was such a thoughtful, caring, and giving person. She would help anyone in need without question. Cary was also a lover of animals as well as people. She loved all her pets including her dogs and chickens. Cary enjoyed travelling and some of her favorite destinations were St. Germaine where she loved her boat and fishing as well as just going home to visit in Fennimore. She loved to go antiquing and bring home many items to polish up into her own treasures. Cary was an avid Packer fan and could always be found on a Sunday in the fall cheering on her favorite team. She was a devoted member of North Cape Lutheran Church. Above all, Cary adored her family and home tremendously and cherished every moment spent with all of them.
Cary leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of over 23 years, Timothy Lehner; son, Zachary Lehner; daughter, Meaghen Lehner; parents, Thomas and Miriam Dziekan; sisters, Cory (James) Ludwin, Kelly Rank; In-laws: Ray and Pat Lehner; sisters-in-law, Debbie (Robert) Berger, Tammy (Steve) Smolik, Teri (Will) Karpinski, Jodi (Karl) Erickson; brother-in-law, Jim Rank; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends too numerous to mention.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, 4:00pm until 8:00pm, at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, 4600 County Line Road. A celebration of Cary’s life will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2017, 11:00am, at North Cape Lutheran Church, 2644 Raynor Avenue, Franksville. Visitation on Thursday will be at the church from 9:30am until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been directed to Timothy Lehner for scholarship funds for their children.
The family would like to extend a heart-felt “Thank You” to Cary’s co-workers at Ascension – Wheaton Franciscan, Dr. Mullane and his staff, and the 3rd floor staff at Ascension – Wheaton Franciscan Hospital for the love and care given to Cary during her time of need.
