
CHARLES H. GEYER, 83, died at Wheaton Franciscan Hospital-All Saints on Monday, January 8, 2007. He was born in Ashland, Kentucky on April 21, 1923, the son of the late Albert and Cora Geyer, and was the eldest son of 19 children. He served his country with the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was employed by the J.I. Case Co. for over 30 years. On May 9, 1953, he was married to the former Estelle Cooper Holton, who preceded him in death on April 21, 2005. Chuck loved to work in his garden, and give advice to all his neighbors. He could fix just about anything that was broken, and some things that weren’t. He enjoyed traveling in his motor home and was a member of RV clubs such as Good Sam (Dusty Road Runners Chapter) and the FMCA. Chuck was a member of Christ Church United Methodist, the Case 20 Year Club and the Local 180 Retirees. Surviving are his children, Warren (Catherine) Geyer, Joan Nikolai, all of Racine, Patricia (Walter) King of Ashland, KY; step-children Charlene Moorhead of San Diego, CA, Dorothy (Ronald) Richards of Emmaus, PA, Robert (Jeanene) Holton of Racine; 21 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren; and his former wife and good friend Verna McAllister of Ashland, KY. Brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends further survive him. In addition to his parents and his beloved wife, a son, Charles Bishop Parsons, a daughter, Dorothy Jean Wright, step-son, Charles Holton, and 8 brothers and 2 sisters preceded him in death. His funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, January 11th at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Awilda Nolla officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial, with military honors, will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park. The family has suggested memorials can be made to your favorite charity. Chuck’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Brady Welsh for years of compassionate and sensible care, and the entire staff of Lincoln Village for the care given during h his last illness.
