Memorial Suggestions

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Chris in a special way may direct memorials to Christine’s family in c/o Scott Olsen.

Christine Alice Wright, age 71, peacefully released her spirit into the hands of Jesus on July 12, 2018 at Aurora Hospital in Kenosha, after a hard-fought battle with endometrial cancer.  She was born in Racine on December 8, 1946 to the late Carl V. and Lucille M. (nee: Yerdon) Nielsen.  Chris graduated from William Horlick High School.  She attended UW-Madison and Carthage College earning a degree in primary education.  She worked several years in the Unified School District.

Christine was a faithful member of Faithbridge Church.  Spending time with her family and with her Lord is what made life most meaningful for her.  Her expression of faith and demonstration of mercy is what made her who she was.  Kindness and optimism flowed through her veins.  She enjoyed life by helping others, listening to Christian music, reading scripture, visiting family and friends and cooking meals for her partner.  Chris will be remembered as a wonderful partner, loving daughter, devoted mother and grandmother, caring sister, affectionate aunt and outstanding cook.  Her love, her friendship and her commentary will be dearly missed.  She is finally in the presence of her Lord and Savior and hopes all who love her will one day join her.

Chris is survived by her life partner of 25 years, Scott Olsen of Sturtevant; her beloved dog: Angel; her children: Lisa Wright of East Peoria, IL; Jennifer (Tom) Cramsie (nee: Wright) of Wake Forest, NC; Michelle Wright of Kenosha; Lindsey (Adam) Tippery (nee: Olsen) of Fayetteville, NC; Bryan Olsen of Racine; her grandchildren: Athene Meekma, Maddie Duchac, Bjorn, Augustin and Kai Tippery; her sisters: Carla (Jim) Wilks, Cathy McDowell and Connie (Mike) Suwalski all of Racine; her father-in-law: Vern (Marie) Olsen; her sisters-in-law: Diane (Dave) Beck of Union Grove, Nancy (Bob) Gustin of Sebring, FL; her uncle: Arnie Froode of Racine; as well as many dear nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Tom McDowell and her mother-in-law, Elaine Olsen.

Family and friends are invited to meet at Faithbridge Church (Franksville Campus, 10402 Northwestern Avenue (Hwy K) in Franksville on Saturday, July 21.  Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.  A memorial service celebrating Christine’s life will follow at 11:00 a.m. with John Fleming officiating.  A private interment will take place in West Lawn Park at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Chris in a special way may direct memorials to Christine’s family in c/o Scott Olsen.

Christine’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Hospice Care and Cancer Treatment Team of Aurora for the loving and professional attention she received while under their care.
