Racine – Claude W. Rogers, born December 28, 1934 in Gloster, Mississippi, was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at the age of 83.

After graduating from Amite County Training school, Claude joined the Great Migration and settled in Racine, Wisconsin.  He accepted Christ as his Savior at a young age and united with the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, where he served faithfully as a Deacon for many years.  He was active with the Sunday School and a was member of the Usher Board, Male Chorus, Trustee Board and Godfathers.

He was united in holy matrimony with Wilma Cobb on January 19, 1957.  Their union was blessed with two children: Randy and Sandra.

Claude was employed by Chrysler Corporation (American Motors) in Kenosha, WI and retired after over 40 years of service.  He was also a member of UAW Local 72 and the NAACP.  In his leisure time, Claude enjoyed golf, gardening and Bible study.

Claude was preceded in death by his parents, Claud and Mamie Rogers; sisters: Yvonne Mattox, Edna Shannon, Martha Cooper and Sadie Stone and his brother: Thomas J. Rogers.  Claude leaves to cherish sweet memories: wife, Wilma Rogers; son: Randy (Robbin) Rogers; daughter: Sandra (Chuck Moss) Rogers; sisters: Daisy Williams, Gloria Rogers and Wilma D. Rogers; brother: Leslie (Patricia) Rogers; sisters-in-law: Betty Thomas, Beverly Hicks, Janet Mitchell; brothers-in-law: Paul Cobb, Gary Cobb, John Shannon; grandson: Jeremy Boykin; three great-granddaughters, nieces, nephews, other dear relatives and friends.

The Celebration of Claude’s life will be held on Thursday, July 19th, 11:00 am at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 1123 Center St, Racine, WI. with Bishop Lawrence L. Kirby officiating.  Visitation will be in the church from 10:00am until the time of service. Claude’s final resting place will be in West Lawn Memorial Park.

A Visitation will also be held Wednesday, July 18th, 5:00-7:00 pm in the Chapel of Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home, 4600 County Line Road, Racine, WI.

Memorial donations in memory of Claude can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org).
