David Michael Grasso

Feb 1, 1962 – Aug 6, 2016

Sturtevant – David Michael Grasso, 54, affectionately known to all as “Chooch”, received the promise of eternal life on Saturday, August 6, 2016, surrounded by the love of his family.  He was born in Ironwood   MI, on February 1, 1962, son of the late Joseph and Rita (nee: Cvengros) Grasso.
Dave was united in marriage to the love of his life, the former Lynn Ann Clausen, on April 8, 1989, at St. Sebastian Catholic Church.

Dave graduated from Case High School in 1980.  He worked in construction for Perma-Structo in Sturtevant.  Dave enjoyed every moment he could spend on his boat and loved fishing. It didn't matter if it was fishing for coho on Lake Michigan, trout on Weber lake, or walleye in Canada.  Dave also had a passion for hunting deer, ducks, and geese.  He could build or fix anything, always had a project going or was helping someone else with their project.  Above all he loved spending time with his family and friends.   Dave had a personality that could instantly light up a room.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Dave leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Lynn Grasso; daughters, Kayla Grasso, Samantha Grasso; sister, Cathie (Warren) Geyer; uncles, Dick (Barbara) Grasso, Mike (Joanne) Grasso; aunts, Mary Strelcheck, Lucille Dovichi, Tommy (Jayne) Grasso; nieces and nephews, Corey Grasso, Jake Krogh, Alex Krogh, Leah Clausen, Alex Lemmons; sisters-in-law, Becky Grasso, Sally (Vicky) Clausen, Ann Clausen; and brothers-in-law, Sam (Marnie) Clausen and Steve Clausen.

In addition to his parents, Dave is preceded in death by his daughter, Megan Rose Grasso and brother, Glenn Grasso.

A memorial celebration of Dave’s life will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2016, 7:00pm, at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, 4600 County Line Road.  Visitation will be from 4:00pm until the time of the service.  Private interment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park on Friday.  In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorials to Sarcoma Foundation of America.

The Grasso Family would like to extend a heart-felt “Thank You” to all the friends and family for the prayers and support since Dave was diagnosed and the staff at Froedtert Hospital Cancer Center, especially, Dr. Charlson, Dr. Nielsen, Dr. Bovi, nurse practitioner Julie and nurses, Jill and Karen.  Also, a “Thank You” to the staff at Aurora Home Hospice, especially nurse, Lisa Phillips.

Testimonials

October 22, 2015

My husband, Tom, died on Jan. 24, 2015. From that life-changing day and still now, Gary and his sons have been at my side taking care of me, advising me, and guiding me with their sensitive, caring, and efficient expertise. I have heard from friends and family how perfect and wonderful the funeral service was (it was a blur for me), and I have the beautiful obit, memorial booklets, CD rom of slide show, celebration candle, portrait, and even personalized thank you cards to provide memories and comfort during difficult days ahead. My heart is full of thanks and appreciation to Gary Langendorf and his entire family.
