
Racine – Delfino M. Peña, 59, passed away at All Saints Hospital on Wednesday, January 17, 2007. He was born in Texas on September 25, 1947, the son of Delfino and Angelita (nee: Martinez) Peña. Following in his father’s footsteps, Mr. Peña was a barber by trade. Due to several illnesses, he retired 1985. Most of his life he lived in Texas, moving to Racine in 1986. He enjoyed helping people. Some of his favorite things were being able to help his friends, by cutting their hair, or acting as an interpreter during their doctors’ visits and official proceedings. He is survived by his father, Delfino Peña, Sr. in Texas; sister and brothers, Mary (Alex) Castillo of Racine, Domingo (Betty) Peña, and David Peña, both in Texas; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded by his mother, Angelita Peña; and his nephew, Carlos Castillo, Jr. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 22, 2007 at Cristo Rey Parish, (corner of 8th Avenue and College), with Father Roberto McGlinn officiating. Burial will take place in the family cemetery in Texas. There will be a visitation in the church on Monday beginning at 10:00 a.m.
