Diana L. Benson

Jan 18, 1937 – Jun 29, 2007

Friendship – Diana Lou Benson, 70, passed away at the Villa Pines Living Center on June 29, 2007. She was born in Shawano on January 18, 1937, daughter of the late Edward and Nona (nee: Clemen) Thompson. Most of her life she had lived in Racine. Diana spent her childhood under the big-top watching her father Ed “Crash” Thompson and his Auto Daredevil Show. Her adult life was spent doing what she loved most – taking care of her family. She loved to make popcorn and settle in with her children to watch Sunday matinee TV shows. She also liked to watch the GB Packers on TV, and kept busy doing floral arrangements, gardening and enjoying the outdoors. She is survived by her children, Steve (Margie) Thompson, Dawn Klingenberger, Wanda (Dave) Bjorkman, Scott Hunt, Robert (Tomoko) Hunt, Keith (Leslie) Hunt, Belinda Hunt, and Keenan Hunt; 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; her sister Jane Mach; brothers, Dallas Thompson and Don Thompson; as well as many other relatives and friends. She was also preceded by her son, Donald Hunt; grandson, Jason Bassinger; and sister Bernadette Thompson. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 7, 2007. Visitation will begin at 9:30. Burial will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park.

Testimonials

Thank you from Raymond Szymanski Family

I would like to thank Mike Langendorf, Bill Althaus and the rest of the staff for the wonderful celebration of the life for my father Raymond L. Szymanski who was a WWII veteran. I especially appreciate how much you really listen and the questions you asked regarding who my father was and what he was all about. Those details showed up in every part of the service from the flowers, the music, the thank you’s, pictures, obituary, outdoor military honors, etc. etc. My father would have been so grateful for the way you honored his life. I also received phone calls from family and friends indicating how beautiful the service was in every way. You and your staff definitely go above and beyond. You treat everyone like family and your compassion is so genuine. There should be more people in the world just like all of you. No words can express our gratitude for all you have done for myself, my father and our family. Thank you so very much and may the Lord bless you and yours! Sincerely Terri Carls and the Szymanski Family
