Homegoing Celebration: Friday, January 26, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Greater Grace Temple, 522 North Memorial Drive

Viewing: at Greater Grace Temple on Friday from 12:00 noon – 2:00 pm

Donté Devel Shannon was born on June 30, 1991 and was taken from this world on January 17, 2018 at the age of 26 years old.  He was the first born to Nakia D. Shannon and Vivian L. Johnson.

He attended school in Racine, WI, where he has lived all his life.  He enjoyed living, making people laugh, dancing and having fun.  He spent the majority of his time with family and friends where he smiled that big beautiful and contagious smile.

He was preceded in death by his maternal great grandparents William Mose, Violet LaMarr, maternal grandparents Daphne Johnson and Norman LaMarr Jr.; paternal great grandfather, Frege Simpson; and paternal great-grandmother, Eva B. Shannon.

He is survived by his father, Nakia D. Shannon, mother Vivian L. Johnson, sisters Chartrice Shannon, Tazaneya Shannon, Nakarra Berryman, one brother, Detrick Wortham, a fiancé, Laquasha Ivory and a daughter Na’Khia Shannon. His paternal grandparents John L. Shannon III, Mary Ann Myers, his great grandfathers, Norman LaMarr Sr. and John L. Shannon, Jr.;  great grandmother, Dora Simpson and great great grandmother Laura Harris (AR) and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He will always be remembered by his family and he will definitely be missed by all .

Homegoing Celebration will be held at Greater Grace Temple, 522 North Memorial Drive, on Friday, January 26, 2018 at 2:00 pm. Viewing will be at Greater Grace Temple on Friday from 12:00 – 2:00 pm.
