
RACINE – Dorothy L. Scaife, 75, was called home by her Lord and Savior, on Friday. March 23, 2007. She was born in Lownds County, MS, on December 4, 1931, the daughter of the late John Henry and Willie Odessa (nee: Everson) Harris. In 1952, in Madison, Illinois, she was united in marriage to Cleveland Scaife. Mrs. Scaife was a member of United Faith Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing but her three greatest loves were her God, her family and her church. Surviving are her beloved husband Cleveland; their children, Cleveland (Ethel) Scaife Jr., William (Patricia) Scaife, Elmar Scaife, Danny Scaife, Curtis Scaife, and Eva Scaife all of Racine, Jerome Scaife of Denver, CO, Andre Scaife of Madison, WI, Barbara (Fletcher) Scaife-Howard of Ft. Wayne, IN, Gwendolyn (Timothy) Scaife-Taylor of Milwaukee; 23 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Mary Harris of Columbus, MS, Cordelia Chratian of Warren-Robbins, GA, Johnnie (Leroy) Harris-Miles of Fairfax, VA; brother, Marshall Odell Harris of Mobile, AL; sister-in-law Bertha Harris of Riverside, CA. Her nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends, and church family further survive her. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister Catherine Bailey and her brothers, John Harris, Lenwood Harris and Mitchell Harris. A Homegoing services for Mrs. Scaife will be celebrated on Saturday, March 31, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church (1120 Grand Ave.) with Pastor A.W. Scaife and Pastor Taurus Pinson officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and in the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park.
