Elizabeth Joy Mundy

Aug 22, 1984 – Nov 24, 2008

Kenosha

Elizabeth Joy Mundy, 24, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2008 due to a tragic automobile accident. She was a lifetime Kenosha resident, born on August 22, 1984, the daughter of Darrel and Mari (nee: Cogan) Carl. On September 20, 2003 she was married in Plymouth Congregational Church to her high school sweetheart, Matthew B. Mundy. They were best friends and completely devoted to each other.

Lizz was a 2002 graduate of Bradford High School, where she loved playing cello in the Symphony Orchestra. She also enjoyed being a member of the Track and Field team, the cheerleading squad, and working as a lifeguard at the K.Y.F. In 2003 she began working at St. Gobain Containers in Burlington, along with her husband and her father.

Lizz was a beacon of sunshine whose bright and smiling face brought joy to her family and friends. She was completely committed to her family. She took great pleasure in family gatherings, and was looking forward to preparing Thanksgiving Dinner for them. She will be fondly remembered for her beautiful smile, and the happiness she brought to everyone she knew.

She will be forever missed by her husband, Matthew Mundy; her parents, Darrel and Mari Carl; sister, Crystal Carl; father and mother-in-law, Tim and Angie Mundy; brothers-in-law, Beau and Erik Mundy; grandparents, Thomas and Carol Gogan, and Evelyn Jackson all of Kenosha; as well by her many aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Robert Carl.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, November 29, 2008 at the Kenosha Plymouth Congregational Church with Rev. Robert Moynihan officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Friday evening from 5 – 8 p.m., and in the church on Saturday beginning at 11:00 a.m. Memorials to the family have been suggested.

“All this I have spoken while still with you. But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:25-27

Iam so sorry to hear of the loss of your daughter Lizz. My daughter Amanda Hansen went to Bradford with Lizz and they also ran track together. I met Lizz several times, she was a beautiful girl, very friendly, and a good friend to Amanda. Our hearts and prayers are with your family in this time of need.

When I think of Lizz all of the memories of growing up come to mind. When I started at Bose, dances and how much fun we always had together. Lizz and her family are in our prayers. She will always be missed and loved by many. It seems like God called her home too soon; but we are on His time not ours, He needed a new voice in His choir. My thoughts and prayers are with you now and forever. God Bless!
