Ellen A. Henderson

Ellen A. Henderson, 83, died on Sunday, December 28, 2008. She was born in Chicago, IL on July 10, 1925, the daughter of the late Frantz and Marie (nee: Frederiksen) Larsen. On Sept. 6, 1947, in Grace Lutheran Church in Chicago, she was united in marriage to Edward B. Henderson who preceded her in death on January 21, 2006. Mrs. Henderson was a longtime employee of the Kurten Medical Clinic. She was a member of Bethania Lutheran Church and the Women’s Guild. Her greatest joy in life was the time spent with family and friends. Surviving are her sons, Mark (Susan) Henderson of Racine, Glenn (Gayle) Henderson of Crozet, VA, and Garry (Jennifer) Henderson of Riverside, IL; 6 grandchildren, Alison Henderson, Tashana (Anthony) D’Amico, Riley Henderson, Lily Henderson, Sue (Landon) Harris and Kris (Bill) Tschantz; 3 great-grandchildren, Giovanni, Bella D’Amico and Abigayle Harris, sister Mary Ann (James) Schulz, and her nephews, Steve (Michelle) Taylor and Don Taylor. Her memorial service will be held in Bethania Lutheran Church, 4120 Wright Ave. on Friday, January 2nd at 12 p.m. with Rev. Stephen R. Wohfeil officiating. Visitation will be in the church on Friday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Inurnment will be in Graceland Cemetery. Ellen’s family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Michael Mullane, the nurses and staff on 2-D at Wheaton Franciscan, and the staff at Hospice Alliance. Ellen was treated with kindness and respect by everyone. In lieu of flowers the family has suggested memorials to Bethania Lutheran Church or Hospice Alliance.
