Ethan Michael Taleck, 6, passed away at his home with his family by his side after a two year battle with glioblastoma multiforme. He was born in Eau Claire on April 3, 2001. Ethan was in first grade at Trinity Lutheran School where he also attended church. He recently was awarded December’s Student of the Month for the encouragement, inspiration and faith that he provided for his fellow students, teachers and friends. Ethan was an avid NASCAR fan who proudly wore the orange and white of Tony Stewart. He also enjoyed video games with his friends and living the life of a 6 year old boy. He is survived by his loving parents, Todd and Julie (nee: Cherney) Taleck; grandparents, Lucille Cherney, Dave and Carolyn Pietsch, Sr. all of Racine; uncles and aunts, Michael Cherney of Racine, Karen (Chris) Willis of St. Petersburg, FL, Scott (Diane) Taleck, Shawn (Troy) Madore both of Racine; cousins, Amy and Jeff Santee of St. Petersburg, Samantha and Megan Taleck and Amanda Madore both of Racine. Ethan was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert Cherney; uncle, David Pietsch, Jr. and cousin, Justin Madore. The service celebrating Ethan’s life will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church (2065 Geneva St.) on Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev.’s Stephen Jennings and David Gehne officiating. His burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park. There will be a visitation in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 5-8 p.m. and in the church on Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are strongly suggested for beneficiaries to be determined at a later date. Ethan’s family wishes to thank so many people that have been helping and supporting them throughout Ethan’s illness; including the doctors, medical staff, family and hundreds of friends and local businesses. Your love and support has been truly appreciated. May God bless all of you.

God saw that you were tired and a cure was not to be.
So he put His arms around you and whispered “Come with me”.
With tearful eyes we watched you suffer and saw you fade away.
Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating, sweet playing hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove, He only takes the best.
It’s lonesome here without you, we miss you more each day.
Life doesn’t seem the same – since you’ve gone away.
When days are sad and lonely and everything goes wrong,
we seem to hear you whisper, “Cheer up and carry on”.
Each time we see your picture, you seem to smile and say
“Don’t cry, I’m in God’s keeping, we’ll meet again some day”.

Todd and Julie, I am so sorry about Ethan. To me he will always be the little boy who didn’t want dad to stop and chit chat-he wanted to continue with his bike ride!
Geoff and I are thinking of you, please let us know if you need anything……

I am the birth Mother to Ethan. I was honored to be a part of his short life…..to have Todd and Julie become his parents. He proceeded the death of his Sister Jasmine Rae Belisle and now his Brother Sebastian Lee Belisle just recently. I still think of you and your family. I recall Julie saying a certain phrase to me, and it rings in my head to this day….I totally get it now and understand fully what she was talking about. Your other Sister Saidee Ann….just got married. Love you always, Son

Mike Langendorf, my parents told me of your kindness, generosity, and servitude when we lost my brother. They needed that strength and your light came through. Thank you! Anne T.
