Jun 24, 1925 – May 4, 2008

RACINE- Evelyn Jane (nee: Muzal) Nega, 82, passed away peacefully at Hospice Alliance-Hospice House in Kenosha on Sunday, May 4, 2008. Evelyn was born in Chicago, IL on June 24, 1925 to the late Bernard and Frances (nee: Deka) Muzal. A lifelong resident of the Chicago area, she moved to Racine in 2000 to live with her family. On October 28, 1946, Evelyn was united in marriage with Daniel Nega, who preceded her in death on November 9, 1982. She was employed as the bookkeeper of Mother Theodore Guerin High School in River Grove, IL for over 25 years. Evelyn was a member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Schaumburg and St. Lucy’s Catholic Church in Racine. In recent years, she enjoyed playing cards, solving crossword puzzles and spending time on her computer. Above all, she cherished living with her adored family for the past 8 years. Surviving are her loving daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Gary Kutz of Racine; dear granddaughters, Lauren and Karen Kutz; sister, Millie (Edward) Dann; sister-in-law, Jane Muzal; and several special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Evelyn was preceded in death by her brother, Hillard Muzal; and dear friend of 20 years, James Frank. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at 10:30 am in St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 1001 E. Schaumburg Rd in Schaumburg, IL. Visitation will be held in Racine at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5-7 pm and at the church in Schaumburg on Thursday from 9:30-10:30 am. Private interment will take place at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Lucy Church – Racine or to Hospice Alliance have been suggested. A heartfelt note of thanks to Dr. Thomas Vravick, Dr. Richard Odders, Hospice Alliance and their entire staffs for the dedicated care and compassionate support that was so warmly extended to Mom in her time of need.

Testimonials

November 13, 2019

The funeral service was just beautiful and very warming to everyone including my family. All the pictures they did and the employees were just fantastic. This is one funeral home I would highly recommend to anyone that wants to feel comfortable and to be treated like family. I can’t say enough good things because it was just such a warm welcome. Thank you to Mark and Mike. We couldn’t have done it without all of you.
