EVELYN M. FRAYER Racine Mrs. Frayer, 80, died in St. Mary’s Medical Center on Monday, Dec. 12, 2005, surrounded by her family. She was born in Racine County, on August 14, 1925, the daughter of the late Peter and Mary Anna (nee: Barth) DeGroot. On Nov. 28, 1944, in Lakeland, FL, she was united in marriage to Wayne Frayer. She was a longtime member of St. Edward Catholic Church, where she volunteered many hours of service. Mrs. Frayer was a former member of the Catholic Junior League, the W.B.A. Club, and was a former Girl Scout Leader. Mrs. Frayer was an avid sports fan, Cubs fan; and was the number one Greg Maddux fan. Surviving are her loving husband of 61 years, Wayne; 6 children; Bill (Ginny) Frayer, Tom (Susie) Frayer all of Racine, Randy (Nancy) Frayer of Sleepy Hollow, IL, Terri (Fred) Dacquisto of Racine, Nancy (Scott) Starrett of Phoenix, AZ, Mary (Kevin) Marchant of Sturtevant; 14 grandchildren, Mark Frayer, Sarah (Matt) Stiff, Robert (Becky) Frayer, Christine Frayer, Jessica Frayer, Scott Frayer, Cori Frayer, Nikki Frayer, Emily Dacquisto, Tia Dacquisto, Samantha Starrett, Lexie Starrett, Kristopher Kamakian and Kody Marchant; 2 great grandchildren Taylor and Colin Stiff; brothers and sisters, Bernice Sullivan, Joan Seitz, Raymond (Rosemary) DeGroot, Don (Joan) DeGroot all of Racine; sisters-in-law, Evelyn DeGroot of Racine, Vivian DeGroot of Vero Beach, FL and Marion DeGroot of San Diego, CA. Mrs. Frayer is further survived by her nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister Eleanor Arentz; and 3 brothers, Richard, Gerald and Edward DeGroot. Her Funeral Mass will be held in St. Edward Catholic Church, 15th and Grove Ave., on Thursday, December 15th, at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Paul Daniels officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and in the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park. The family has suggested memorials to either St. Edward Catholic Church, the American Heart Association, or your favorite charity. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the nursing staff at St. Mary’s, especially Nancy, Dawn and Ann for the loving and compassionate care given to Evelyn.
