
Waukesha – Frank David Bellovary, age 68, of Waukesha passed away on Monday, January 18, 2016 at Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care in Waukesha. He was born on September 12, 1947 in Racine, the son of Frank Francis Bellovary and Flora (Rago) Bellovary.
Frank graduated from St. Catherine’s High School in 1965. He went on to MATC and graduated from barber’s school. He was a barber at Porcaro’s Barber Shop into his mid-twenties and kept his master’s barbers license until his death. He left barbering to join his uncle, Al Rago, in the wine and spirits business in 1973. During this time he also attended WCTC for marketing credits. He lived in Racine until 1978 and then moved to Waukesha. Frank worked for a number of distributors and retired in 2006 from Schieffelin & Somerset Company, New York. He was a regional and state manager and won many sales awards throughout his career. Frank was able to travel the country and Europe for his job. He became a wine and spirits aficionado. Frank enjoyed his work, travels, and all the people he met during this time.
Frank was a long-time member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Waukesha. He was one of the earliest members of the parish. He was a long-time member of Roma Lodge in Racine, St. Lucy’s Church in Racine, Wern Valley Sportsman Club, the NRA, and Ducks Unlimited. He loved hunting and fishing with his sons, especially at his best friend’s, Peter Walls’, northwoods house in Conover, WI. Frank grew up hunting and fishing with his dad, uncles, and cousins. He was an avid collector of antiques and other collectibles. His favorite collections were his antique blow torches and guns. Frank supported his sons in their numerous sports and school activities through the years. He did the same for his five cherished grandchildren in recent years.
Frank will be missed by his sons Tony (Hollie) Bellovary of Green Bay, Nick (Angela) Bellovary of Waukesha, grandchildren Amanda and Sawyer Bellovary of Green Bay and Ava, Eliza, and Isla Bellovary of Waukesha; his loving mother Flora Bellovary of Racine, sister Joyce Schenkenberg of DeForest, sister Dorothy (Bill) Bushell of Racine; Cathy Bellovary of Waukesha, Florence Melster of Waukesha, Mary Kay and John Melster of Waukesha, nieces, nephews, best friends Peter Walls of Conover, WI and Bob Caston of Fitchburg, WI, and many other relatives and friends. Frank was predeceased by his infant son, Robert, loving father, Frank Bellovary, and many other special relatives.
The visitation for Frank will be held at St. Lucy’s Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Avenue, Racine, WI on Saturday, January 23rd , from 9-11 with mass and service to follow. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Racine, WI. Frank will be interred in a companion crypt with his infant son, Robert, near his father, Frank.
