Gary Lee Hardesty, 71, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2016. He was born in Monmouth, Illinois on May 15, 1945, son of the late Charles and Mary (nee: Isreal) Hardesty. Gary was raised in Monmouth and graduated from Warren High School in 1963. Gary had two daughters and was a hard working father who took a lot of pride in his family. He was proud to serve in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Afterward he enjoyed a successful career as an electrician in the construction trades.

Gary is survived by his daughters: Laurie (Robert) Joseph of Racine, and Cathy Hardesty of Sebring, Florida; grandchildren: Corey Joseph of Kenosha, Caryn Joseph of Union Grove, Annie Joseph, Mike Frost, and Nicole Joseph all of Racine, and great-grandson Nolan Betchkal. He is further survived by his brothers and sister: Bob (Lyn) Hardesty, Vickie (Allen) Crain, Dick (Julie) Hardesty, Steve (Sally) Hardesty, and Dave (Lori) Hardesty; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorial Services to be held at 11am on Saturday December 10, 2016 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home (1007 North G Street, Monmouth, IL 61462)
