Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Matson; his mother in law Joan Drasen, his brother-in-law, Ernie Drasen, and Paul Brisko, and sister-in-law, Ellen Kruse.
Family and friends are invited to meet at the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Sunday, January 5, 2014 from 12:30 pm until 2:30 p.m. for a visitation and chance to meet with his family. A service honoring and celebrating his life will follow at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. A private interment will take place in the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Memorials have been suggested to the American Diabetes Association and the American Cancer Society.
The Matson family would like to thank Dr. Parameswaran Hari as well as the nurses and staff at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital for the professional and personal attention Jerry received while under their care. The family would also like to thank Willard and Gina Romantini.

Marianne, I am thinking of you today. I am so sorry to hear of Jerrys’ passing. I will remember going to school with Jerry how quiet he was, at A&E he was a hard worker. Then meeting you at Nestle and all the long talks we had. Our lives seemed to just keep intertwining. Stay strong my friend, we will all be together some day.
Mary Libbey says
Matson family you are all in my thoughts. I worked with Jerry for many years at A&E then again at Trent Tube. Always a great guy to be around. He will truly be missed. Sorry for your loss.

My heartfelt condolences and prayers are being sent with this message. As a patient of Dr. Hari and having spent 2 times in the BMT Unit at Froedert , I have a sense of what Jerry may have experienced there. It was with much sadness that I learned of his passing. All of you will remain in my thoughts.
